〈기억의 숲〉은 시간 속에 퇴적된 기억의 흔적들이 하나의 유기적인 생명체처럼얽히고 중첩되는 과정을 표현한 작품이다. 화면을 가득 채운 초록과 노랑의 색채는생명력과 성장의 에너지를 상징하며, 그 위를 가로지르는 검은 선과 흔적들은 기억의 파편, 감정의 결, 그리고 삶의 경험들이 남긴 자취를 드러낸다.질서와 혼돈이 공존하는 화면 속에서 서로 다른 색과 형태들은 끊임없이 충돌하고융합하며 새로운 풍경을 만들어낸다. 이는 인간의 기억이 단순히 과거에 머무는 것이 아니라 현재와 만나 재해석되고 변화하는 과정을 은유한다. 곳곳에 나타나는 밝은 빛의 흔적은 잊혀진 기억 속에서도 여전히 살아 있는 희망과 치유의 가능성을 상징한다.작가는 숲이라는 상징적 공간을 통해 인간 내면의 무의식을 탐색하며, 기억들이 뿌리를 내리고 가지를 뻗어 또 다른 의미를 생성하는 순간을 포착하고자 했다. 〈기억의 숲〉은 관람자로 하여금 자신의 내면에 잠재된 기억과 감정을 마주하게 하며, 삶의 모여 이루는 고유한 풍경을 사유하도록 이끈다.

Sondos Abdelmalak is a Vienna-based painter and architect of Tunisian-Jordanian heritage. Trained and practicing as an architect specializing inhealthcare and healing environments, she has long been preoccupied with therelationship between space, human wellbeing, and the restorative power of beauty. Painting runs in parallel with her architectural practice — not as a departure from it, but as its most intimate expression. Working in acrylics on canvas,Abdelmalak paints the sky as an emotional and psychological territory. Herlarge-format cloud paintings are acts of reaching — toward openness, toward release, toward a freedom that architecture alone cannot always hold.In her hands, atmosphere becomes a medium for the interior life: a placewhere the pressures of the world dissolve into light, color, and infinite space.Her Sky Escape series reflects a deeply personal need to transcend — to lookup and, in doing so, breathe again.

What strikes me most about BIEAF is its refusal of the obvious. An environmental art festival could easily become a gallery of warnings — graphsmade painterly, catastrophe rendered decorative. Instead, over more than twodecades, Busan has insisted on something harder and more necessary: thatart does not illustrate the ecological crisis, it metabolizes it.
The 2026 theme — From the Sun to the Boy — carries a quiet devastation inits simplicity. It is a generational arc. From the source of all life on this planet,to the child who will inherit whatever we leave behind. Between those twopoints lies every canvas, every installation, every act of making that thefestival gathers. It is not a theme about despair. It is a theme abouttransmission — what passes between the world and the human body,between this generation and the next, between beauty and responsibility.What I find genuinely rare about BIEAF is that it treats ecologicalconsciousness not as a subject imposed onto art, but as a condition fromwhich art naturally emerges — the way light emerges from pressure, the way astorm is also a kind of composition.

Description of the work : The sky used to be a promise.
Before the smoke learned our names, before the amber at the horizonstopped meaning sunrise and started meaning fire — we looked up and foundsomething larger than our grief. SkyEscape begins there: at the thresholdbetween what the sky once was and what we are making of it.
n this canvas, a mass of deep teal and charcoal advances from below — notweather, but weight. The accumulated pressure of what we have not yetconfronted. Its edges do not hold; they dissolve into a pale mist at theboundary where storm meets fading rose, where the industrial meets theintimate. Two strokes of magenta cut across the transition — raw, urgent,luminous — like the last frequency nature broadcasts before it goes silent. Inthe lower corner, amber burns. It is not warmth. It is warning.
SkyEscape is not an escape from the environment. It is an escape into whatthe environment is trying to say. Abdelmalak — working as both architect andpainter — understands the sky not as backdrop but as a built condition:something we have shaped, and something that now shapes us back. Theseclouds carry our exhaust, our indifference, our beauty, our longing for what wehave not yet lost.
The painting asks: what remains of light, when we have forgotten how toprotect it?

오늘날 자국의 이익을 위해서라면, 자연을 오염시키고, 심지어 전쟁도 서슴지 않는다. 개인의 또는 지엽적인 편익을 위해 자연을 착취하고 타인을 무시하는 것은 결국부메랑으로 돌아와 지구 환경을 오염시키고 우리의 생존을 위협하게 될 것이다.이러한 시대 상황에서 나는 상생과 공존을 생각한다. 이를 위해 나는 이 지구의 최초의 생명체라고 할 수 있는 지의류에 주목한다. 지의류는 균류(菌類)와 조류(藻類)의공생체로 수억년 동안 이 지구에서 살아왔기 때문이다.나는 그림의 대상으로서 지의류의 특성에 주목한다. 그리고 그것을 여하히 회화로변용(transfiguration)하려 한다. 이번 그림은 우리나라 제주도에서 만난 것이다. 그모습과 색깔이 인상적이다.

인간은 타인과 관계를 맺으며 살아가는 존재이다. 삶 속에서 형성되는 다양한 관계는 조화와 갈등을 반복하며 하나의 세계를 구성한다. 본 작품은 이러한 관계의 구조를 시각적으로 표현하고자 하는 작업에서 출발하였다.이 작업은 비누거품을 반복적으로 쌓아 올리는 과정을 통해 관계의 형성과 시간의축적을 드러낸다. 얇고 투명한 거품은 하나의 흔적에 불과하지만, 수없이 중첩되면서 새로운 색과 형태를 만들어낸다. 이 거품들은 고행을 헤쳐나가는 내 노동의 지표적 흔적이며 또한 들꽃과 풀의 흔적을 화면에 남김으로써 자연과 인간, 시간과 기억이 맺는 관계를 표현하고자 하였다.

Sreesubha Suresh is a self-taught contemporary abstract artist from Keralawhose paintings explore the emotional, psychological, and spiritualdimensions of human existence. Born and raised in the lush landscapes ofWayanad, her artistic vision is deeply influenced by nature, lived experiences,and an enduring fascination with the inner world of human emotions. Although she holds an M.Phil. in Art History and has dedicated seventeen years to teaching the subject, her creative journey has evolved independently through continuous experimentation, observation, and self-discovery. Working primarily with acrylics, Sreesubha employs expressive palette-knifetechniques, layered textures, and vibrant colour harmonies to create paintingsthat transcend literal representation. Her works invite viewers to engage withthemes of resilience, serenity, compassion, transformation, endurance, andthe profound interconnectedness of life. Drawing inspiration from Buddhistphilosophy, symbolism, and the subtle rhythms of nature, she transforms personal reflection into universal visual narratives that encouragecontemplation and emotional connection. Her paintings balance abstraction and symbolism, allowing each compositionto become an open space for interpretation rather than a fixed narrative. The theme From Sun To Boy resonates deeply with my artistic philosophy,where creation begins with an unseen energy and unfolds into humanconsciousness. To me, the Sun symbolizes the universal source of life, wisdom,and transformation, while the Boy represents humanity's continuous journeyof growth, discovery, and responsibility toward the natural world.
Through my paintings, I seek to explore the emotional and spiritualdimensions of human existence, translating inner experiences into symbolicvisual narratives. This theme encourages me to reflect on the profoundrelationship between nature and humanity—not as separate entities, but asinterconnected expressions of the same life force. The creative energy of theSun becomes a metaphor for resilience, hope, and renewal, inspiring us to livewith compassion and harmony.
My work aspires to create a contemplative space where viewers reconnectwith themselves and with nature, recognizing that the future of humanitydepends upon our ability to preserve the delicate balance between theenvironment, the human spirit, and the shared source from which all lifeemerges.

Star Smart (born 1970, Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American abstract artist, material innovator, writer, and environmental advocate whose multidisciplinary practice transforms reclaimed materials into richly textured sculptural assemblages and mixed-media works. Working primarily with recycled paper, plastics, fiber, and found objects, Smart has developed a distinctive visual language that explores resilience, memory, transformation, and the interconnectedness of human experience. Raised within the counterculture movement before later pursuing formal fine art education, Smart's work bridges intuitive making with conceptual inquiry. Rather than recreating the visible world, she constructs tactile environments that invite viewers to experience art through texture, pattern, accumulation, and material history. Each component of her work has lived a previous life, carrying traces of its own journey before being reimagined into new forms. A two-time cancer survivor, Smart's artistic practice is deeply informed by survival, healing, reinvention, and the belief that beauty can emerge through repair. Her work frequently addresses environmental stewardship, social justice, women's lived experiences, and the transformative potential of overlooked materials. Through experimentation, she has pioneered innovative techniques that expand the possibilities of sustainable contemporary art while encouraging audiences to engage visually, emotionally, and imaginatively. Smart's work has been exhibited internationally throughout North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America in both solo and group exhibitions. Alongside her studio practice, she is a published author, activist, and educator whose work advocates for creativity as a means of resilience, connection, and cultural dialogue. Now based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the city of her birth, Smart continues to develop new bodies of work while writing her memoir and exploring themes of homecoming, legacy, and renewal through material innovation and bstraction.

Description of the work :
This work was inspired by what happens after significant events. Eachexperience transforms me into another iteration of myself—stronger, moreresilient. I adapt enough to endure without losing who I am. Survival hasrequired me to become many things at once. The piece reflects that fluidity: itcan hang in multiple orientations, adapt to different spaces, and remainpliable, reinforcing its tactile nature and continual capacity for transformation
My practice explores transformation through material. Working primarily in assemblage and mixed-media abstraction I create tactile works that investigate memory, resilience, environmental awareness, and legacy. Rather than pristine materials, I work with reclaimed remnants that have already lived many lives. These materials carry histories of touch, use, labor, and time. By gathering, altering, and reconstructing them into new forms, I seek to reveal beauty and meaning within what has been forgotten, while questioning ideas of value, permanence, and consumption. Texture and accumulation form the visual language of my work. Each piece develops through an intuitive process of layering and construction through hand and heat sculpting, allowing the materials themselves to guide the composition. The resulting surfaces invite those who gaze to come close and often inspire a desire for tactile engagement. My practice is deeply informed by lived experience—survival, loss, renewal, and continual reinvention—but it is not intended as autobiography alone. Instead, these experiences become a framework for exploring broader themes of healing, adaptation, and our shared capacity for transformation. I am interested in how broken things, fractured histories, and overlooked materials can become sites of strength, beauty, and connection. Environmental responsibility is central to my process. By transforming waste into contemporary fine art, I seek to expand conversations about sustainability while demonstrating the creative potential of reclaimed materials. Innovation within material practice is as important to me as the finished object itself. Ultimately, my work invites viewers to reconsider what they see, what they value, and what they choose to preserve. Through abstraction and material experimentation, I hope to create spaces where memory, curiosity, and wonder coexist, reminding us that transformation is both an artistic process and a human one.

Amoeba contributes to this dialogue by considering transformation as both abiological and material process. Constructed from reclaimed materials, thework references one of the earliest forms of life as a metaphor for origin,adaptation, and evolutionary resilience. Through the reconstitution ofdiscarded matter into an organic, tactile form, the work reflects the festival’scommitment to regeneration, affirming the potential for renewal within boththe natural world and human experience.

Stefan Anchevski (Kumanovo, 1993) is a visual and multimedia artist. Hegraduated at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University inSkopje. He has had 16 independent and over 200 group exhibitions andscreenings in his country and abroad. He is a member of DLUB (2022) andDLUM (2023). In 2014 and 2023 is the winner of the first prize “TrashForArt”and winner of the first prize “Let’s bring justice closer to citizens” in 2023 –COE – National Gallery Mala Stanica – Skopje. Currently, he is a postgraduatestudent at the Art Academy at Goce Delcev University in Shtip.

Description of the work : The innate talent of the young artist Stefan Anchevski has been a steppingstone to his aspiration for his personal promotion and affirmation. Afterobtaining his diploma of art, Anchevski systematically and carefully focuses ongraphic images, shapes and symbols as nuts and bolts of his work where hecolors his spiritual, teaching and emotional perception. Thinking as an artist as he is, it is expected that he, with his language of artand achieved visual and narrative expression, strives for joining the mostimportant elements of art in a whole unity, thus creating his unique artisticintegrity. Anchevski tries to see elements as moving lines that pave the roadfor the contrivance of many optical illusions. His sole art values have been created through abundant experiments helpinghim shape an opinion that his visual and graphic communication representsthe main point of a picture. Subhadri Subha is a Mithila artist based in Kathmandu, deeply absorbed in the rich cultural heritage of Mithila. Born in a tapestry of traditions where art, spirituality and everyday life are closely interrelated, she considers practicing Mithila painting to be beyond work but a blessing and a meaningful connection to her ancestral roots. For her, this ancestral art form, believed to date back to the era of King Janak, is a living expression of devotion, prosperity and deep connection to the cycles of life. Academically, Subhadri holds a Master’s degree in Business Studies with a specialization in Finance. For many years, she devoted herself to family life and responsibilities as a homemaker. Although, creativity always remained within her, her artistic aspirations quietly waited in the background. She later found the courage to rekindle her passion for art, showing it’s never too late to follow one’s true calling. Her artistic philosophy reflects her ideology of “Failure to Zero”. To her, failure represents incomplete self-discovery, while “zero” symbolizes humility, ongoing learning and endless growth. Rather than competing with others, she believes in evolving through self-improvement and inner reflection. Subhadri views Mithila painting as more than a beautiful art form but a divine art form which represents worship, meditation, healing and relaxation. A major milestone came when renowned Janakpur artist Bijay Mani Dutt appreciated one of her rough sketches shared on Facebook. Her works have been showcased in national and international exhibitions across Nepal, India ,Bangladesh and USA.

When you look at this painting of Surya Dev, you are looking at the ultimatesource of life, energy, and discipline. I have given him a powerful, regalmustache and wide, sharp Meen Netra (fish-shaped eyes) because he is thesupreme watcher of the universe—strong, protective, and full of wisdom.Behind him, I meticulously drew a grand, blooming lotus using intensiveKachni (fine line work). Each tiny stroke within those petals representspatience and resilience, a reminder that we can bloom beautifully no matterhow deep the mud around us is. Below his radiant face, I painted the seven white horses leaping forwardtogether through the cosmic blue waves. To me, these seven horses are thedays of the week. They represent unstoppable momentum. Time never waits,and like these horses, we must keep moving forward. I used the bold Bharnistyle to fill Surya Dev’s face with a vibrant, auspicious gold, contrasted againstthe intricate geometric patterns on the horses' bodies to create a perfectbalance of color and line. Notice how there is no empty space left on thecanvas; every inch is filled with rhythmic waves because in our tradition,empty space invites negativity, whereas a completely filled canvas vibrateswith pure life force. Bringing this painting into your home means welcoming the very essence ofprogress. I painted this to be a catalyst for positive growth. When it hangs onyour wall, it brings the warmth of the sun to dispel stagnation, the discipline ofthe seven horses to keep you consistent, and the purity of the lotus to giveyou mental clarity. Tell us about BIEAF2026 'From Sun To Boy' : For five decades I have painted faces; more than two thousand portraits thatbegan beside a sacred fig in Mumbai, where at thirteen I painted film postersto fund my studies. I learned early to chase the pulse beneath a face, theflicker of feeling that makes a person real. The Himalayas asked the same ofme, only slower. After more than twenty years of walking them, I stoppedseeing scenery and began to hear a presence; a stillness that gathers in thelong pause between storms, in snowfields that hold light the way lungs holdbreath. 'From the Sun to the Boy' names something I have watched unfold acrossthose years. Heat and soot settle on the ice; winters that once fell as snow nowfall as rain; the glaciers loosen their hold, and the rivers born from them carrythat change down to the villages, the fields, the children who never climbed tosee where their water begins. The distance between a distant sun and a singlehuman life turns out to be very short. One warms; the other inherits.This is why I paint. Not to freeze the mountains into monuments, but to holdthem mid-breath; the sweep of a ridge, a valley folding into itself like a slowwave; in the brief, tender moments when they look almost gentle. Mycanvases carry love and grief in equal measure, and a quiet insistence thatwhat appears eternal is not. BIEAF's belief that art can bind nature tohumanity, and humanity to its neighbor, is the same faith that moves mybrush. I paint so the calm may outlive the thaw, and reach the ones who come after.

For over two decades I've moved through the Himalayas as a listener. Peopleimagine pure serenity, but these mountains are loud; cutting winds, fracturingrock, roaring rivers. Beneath that force lives a calm that feels sacred: not theabsence of chaos, but what remains when you stop trying to control themountain and simply witness it. My oil paintings catch the range mid-breath;the sweep of a ridge, a valley folding like a slow wave. That calm is fragile. Lookslowly. Then notice what threatens it.
Calm For more than two decades I have moved through the Himalayas not as a traveller, but as a listener. We imagine these mountains serene. The truth is louder: winds like blades, rock that fractures without warning, rivers that roar, weather that turns in minutes. Nature here is not gentle. And yet beneath that brutal force lives a calm that feels almost sacred. It gathers in the long pause between storms, in snowfields that hold light the way lungs hold breath, in the quiet order of peaks unmoved by human hurry. This calm is not the absence of chaos. It is what remains when you stop grasping at the mountain and simply behold it. But the calm is being disturbed. The hush breaks against engines and horns. Roads push deeper into valleys that once felt untouched. Winters that arrived as snow now arrive as rain. Soot and black carbon settle across the ice, darkening what was made to return the light; and the melt comes quicker, harsher, more relentless. Across a range that cradles tens of thousands of glaciers, the retreat is no longer an abstraction. You can see it. You can feel it. The rhythm is changing. And when the rhythm changes, everything shifts with it: biodiversity, water, soil, memory. Even the silence is polluted; plastic sealed in ice, glass glinting near streams people once approached like prayer. From the sun to the boy, the distance is shorter than we think. Heat gathers on the ice. The glaciers loosen their hold. The rivers born of them carry that loosening down to the villages, the fields, the children who have never climbed to see where their water begins. One warms. The other inherits. This is why I paint. My work catches the Himalayas mid-breath; the sweep of a ridge, the curve of a valley folding into itself like a slow wave. Even in oil, what I chase is not permanence but presence: the brief, tender moments when the mountains look almost gentle. Because the calm I am painting is fragile. It can disappear. I choose perspectives that let these mountains reveal their true scale; the vastness that humbles, and the damage that creeps in quietly, one road, one scar, one season at a time. My canvases carry love and grief in equal measure, and a quiet insistence that what appears eternal is not. So, look slowly. Let the calm reach you. Then notice what would be lost. Because preserving the Himalayas is not only about saving ice. It is about protecting a silence the world still desperately needs; and about the boy downstream, who deserves to inherit both the water and the quiet. I paint the silence before it melts, so the boy may still inherit the sun.

Mother, thehunter is about to kill me, please save me. Tears were flowing from the eyes ofthe child, and after seeing the tears in the eyes of the child, the hunterimmediately stopped the mother. Who is the mother of animals or humans? Amother is a mother who sacrifices her life to save her child. In the evening, thesun is about to set. Time does not wait for you. The sun tells us that the routineof a person or an animal, i.e. life, is always going on with time. Many suchincidents come between us. Life goes on with happiness and sorrow. Bothwater and land are depicted in the painting. Life in water and life on land arevery important for our life. Nature is very important for us to live our life. Aclean environment is needed for it. The painting is based on life and nature.

현대인은살아가며 자신도모르게 사회가 씌워준가면, 즉 페르소나를 장착한채 살아간다.‘모범생’, ‘현모양처’, ‘성공한아들’, ‘멋진아빠’…이시대가부여한이름들은하나의제복과도같다. 그러나 언젠가 우리는 그 제복을 벗어 던지고 잠시 멈추어, 지금의 나를 그대로 바라보고 싶어지는 순간이 온다. 멈춤(止)은 도피가 아니라 직면이며, 봄(觀)은 바라보는 태도로 지관(止觀)은 멈추어 서서 나와 나를 둘러싼 모든 상황을 다시 한번 돌아보며 현 상황을 직시해 보라는 의미로 해석해 본다

Susan Bart (Bilbao, 1977) is a multidisciplinary artist with 25 years ofexperience, holding degrees in Fine Arts, Design Management, and Ceramics.Formerly focused on marquetry, she transitioned to sustainable processes toreconcile her craft with nature. Her recent work addresses ecologicalemergencies, notably Posidonia Oceanica, using recycled plastic to exposepollution's impact on vital marine ecosystems.
Description of the work' :
Eguzkilore Help! reimagines the Basque symbol of protection as anenvironmental call to action. Emerging from recycled plastic, the flower asksus to protect nature from pollution, reminding us that the Earth no longerneeds to protect us—we must protect it.
Eguzkilore—literally "sun flower" in Basque—is a symbol of protection deeply rooted in Basque mythology. Traditionally placed on the entrance of a home, this thistle was believed to ward o evil spirits by invoking the power of the sun. It embodies the ancient relationship between humans, nature, and the life-giving force of light. For centuries, plants have protected us—providing medicine, shelter, nourishment, and spiritual meaning. Today, however, it is nature that requires our protection. This work transforms the eguzkilore into a contemporary environmental symbol. Emerging from recycled plastic, the ower appears invaded by the very material humans have spread throughout the planet. Microplastics have inltrated ecosystems, soils, oceans, plants, animals, and even our own bodies. The protector now asks to be protected. Eguzkilore Laguntza! ("Eguzkilore Help!") is both a call to action and a reversal of an ancient myth. Instead of asking nature to defend us, we must now defend the fragile systems that sustain life. A house displaying this new eguzkilore on its door no longer seeks protection from invisible forces; it declares a commitment to protecting the environment and to actively caring for a healthy ecosystem. The work establishes a dialogue between ancestral knowledge and contemporary ecological reality. It reects on how our relentless consumption and pollution have altered the balance of the natural world. Climate change, habitat degradation, and human exploitation have turned many plant species—including the wild guzkilore, which is now legally protected and cannot be collected—into vulnerable beings. We must adapt our relationship with nature; it is no longer acceptable to take endlessly from the land without giving back. This project is part of my ongoing body of work exploring environmental ransformation through botanical metaphors, alongside Dystopian Poppy, Transgenic Nursery, and Posidonia Oceanica. Each piece examines the tension between human intervention and the resilience of living organisms, inviting viewers to reconsider their role within the ecosystems they inhabit. In dialogue with the theme of BIEAF2026, "From Sun To Boy," the eguzkilore becomes a bridge between the primordial energy of the sun and human responsibility. If the sun symbolizes the origin of life and creative force, then the artist—and humanity—must become its guardian rather than its exploiter. This work is ultimately a fable. The Earth does not depend on us; we depend on the Earth. By exhausting its resources and disrupting its natural balance, we place our own future at risk. The planet is our home, and the time has come to stop asking it to protect us. It is our turn to protect it.

SUSANNA WONG 黄凯贤 【十三妹】SINGAPORE Born in Hong Kong, Susanna Wong, also known as “十三妹”, relocated to Singapore in 1997 after completing her studies at the University of Leicester in the U.K. Drawn to art from a young age, Susanna sees it as more than painting—it is her way of expressing life and emotion. After retirement, she devoted herself to learning and growing as an artist under the guidance of Singaporean mentors. Like many artists, Susanna's journey has not always been easy. There were moments of uncertainty and self-doubt, but her love for art never faded. Guided by curiosity, determination, and a willingness to keep learning, she continued to grow with every painting. Today, she is living the dream she once quietly held in her heart. For Susanna, art is much more than a passion—it is a lifelong companion, a source of joy, and a meaningful way to express who she is. Susanna loves to travel. He acts as a "free creator" and a blankcanvas, stepping into a new realm of consciousness as he inherits the worldand receives energy from the cosmos.

The Hands of Creation is a sculptural mixed-media artwork created with coldporcelain and acrylic. It explores the timeless relationship between humanityand the act of creation through the image of a potter's hands shaping a clayvessel. This moment of transformation symbolizes imagination, patience, andthe extraordinary ability of human hands to turn simple materials intomeaningful expressions of life and culture. Throughout history, hands have been the instruments of creation, carryingknowledge, tradition, and craftsmanship from one generation to the next. Inthis artwork, the hands become the true subject rather than the vessel itself.They embody dedication, resilience, and the quiet discipline that lies behindevery work of art. The unfinished vessel represents endless possibilities,reminding us that every masterpiece begins with a single touch, guided byvision and perseverance. The sculptural relief is central to the work's concept. By combining paintingwith three-dimensional texture, I wanted to dissolve the boundary betweenimage and sculpture. The tactile surface encourages viewers to experiencethe creative process beyond sight, emphasizing the movement, pressure, andrhythm involved in shaping clay. Every layer reflects the intimate dialoguebetween the artist and the material, making the invisible process of creation visible. Although the artwork celebrates the universal language of craftsmanship, italso carries a deeply personal meaning. As I sculpted the hands, I realized theyclosely resembled the hands of my father, who is a painter. He has devotedmuch of his life to art, and his passion, patience, and commitment to creativityhave greatly influenced my own artistic journey. The hands in this artwork arenot a portrait of him, but they are inspired by the strength, dedication, andquiet wisdom I have always associated with his hands. In this way, The Handsof Creation becomes a heartfelt tribute to his lifelong artistic spirit and to thevalues he has passed on to me. Coming from Pakistan, a land with a rich heritage of pottery, craftsmanship,and artistic traditions, I also wanted this work to honor the countless artisanswhose hands preserve culture and identity through their craft. Their creationsconnect the past with the present and remind us that creativity is one ofhumanity's most enduring legacies. Ultimately, The Hands of Creation is a celebration of the human spirit. My work is to visualize the cyclical relationship between 'extinction andcreation' through the spread and overlapping of ink. One line is not a singlephenomenon, but is created and disappeared in the passage of time, leadingback to another form. The fragmented phenomenon of plants appearing onthe screen invokes memories of nature in childhood, which is combined withthe flow of abstract lines and acts as a trace of life. As a result, this work is nota 'completed image', but rather a constantly changing state, that is, theprocess of creation itself.

‘별의 아이 No.08’은 마음속 깊은 곳에 머무는 감정과 마주하는 순간을 담은 작품이다. 화면을 가득 채운 붉은빛과 푸른빛은 서로 다른 감정의 층위를 상징하며, 그 경계에 앉아 있는 아이는 감정을 외면하지 않고 바라보는 내면의 자아를 의미한다. 우리는 종종 아픔과 슬픔을 밀어내려 하지만, 때로는 그것을 없애려 하기보다 함께 머무는 시간이 필요하다. 작가는 감정을 억누르거나 지우려 하지 않고 있는 그대로 받아들이는 과정을 통해 치유가 시작된다고 말한다. 이 작품은 상처를 극복하는 방법이회피가 아니라, 조용히 곁에 앉아 바라보는 것일 수 있다는 메시지를 전한다.
