Proposed Artwork Title: Shadow of the Jewel "I am Ayoub El Moudden, a Moroccan visual artist. In my work, I explore the possibility of building a visual bridge between memory and the collective unconscious. My participation in BIEAF 2025 comes at a critical global moment, where we can truly feel that something at the center has vanished — not only in the world around us, but even within our own spirits. In my art, I do not seek answers, but rather new places for listening. I use Moroccan symbols — the script, the turban, the jewel, the sea — as floating elements in an open space, orbiting around a center we no longer see, but still sense.
The painting I present at this festival is not merely an aesthetic work; it is an attempt to evoke a lost presence — a space of reflection in a time when identity, nature, and language seem to be fracturing. If the center is lost, perhaps art is the last compass still pointing toward it — or at least toward the possibility of imagining it anew."
Introduction
Hello, I’m Ayoub El Moudden, a visual artist from Morocco. This year, I’m participating in BIEAF 2025 – “The Lost Center” with a piece that reflects the crisis of meaning and identity in a time of deep ecological and spiritual change. My work is an invitation to reflect, to reclaim silence, and to search through memory for a center we may not have entirely lost — but perhaps simply forgotten. I thank the festival for offering this vital space for visual thought, and I look forward to sharing stories and visions with artists from around the world. Thank you.
"Architecture of the Soul" An Artistic Critique of a Work by Moroccan Painter Ayoub El Moudden ✧ A Visual Dialogue Between Memory and Modernity In this striking mixed-media composition, Moroccan artist Ayoub El Moudden offers not merely an image, but a dialogue across time—an introspective choreography of form, heritage, and identity. The portrait at the center is at once deeply personal and culturally symbolic: it evokes the archetype of the Moroccan intellectual, spiritual, or historical figure, a custodian of collective memory, gazing inward into a space of reflection and reconstruction. The fusion of figurative and abstract elements, especially through the strategic integration of Arabic calligraphy, reveals El Moudden’s mastery in navigating visual dualities: clarity vs. abstraction, tradition vs. innovation, stillness vs. flux. The calligraphy is not bound to literal reading—it spills, flows, fragments—turning into rhythmic form, a kind of visual breath that moves across the canvas like wind through ancient corridors. ✧ Color as Language and Code Color is not merely decorative here; it operates as a language of coded emotion. The oceanic blues at the base ground the figure in a world of depth and introspection—perhaps referencing Morocco’s Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts, or symbolizing the emotional subconscious. Above, greens, yellows, and oranges burst like fragments of architecture and vegetation, referencing both Islamic ornamentation and the country’s diverse landscapes. The magenta and pink spheres recall cosmic bodies or sacred geometry, adding a spiritual, perhaps even Sufi, resonance to the work. Each color field seems to represent a frequency of identity—national, spiritual, poetic—layered in a process of emergence rather than clarity. The result is a psycho-visual map of the Moroccan soul, seen through the eyes of an artist who does not separate the aesthetic from the existential. ✧ Beyond the Frame: A Contemporary Moroccan Voice In the broader context of contemporary North African art, Ayoub El Moudden’s work resists exoticism and nostalgia. Instead, it functions as an active reclaiming of heritage through visual experimentation. He belongs to a new generation of Arab artists who do not simply quote the past—they transform it. El Moudden’s style draws from Moroccan artistic traditions—Zellige, calligraphy, textiles—but repositions them in a postmodern visual language that is both deeply personal and globally resonant. The line work is precise yet nervous, dissolving into a dense web of free-flowing Arabic calligraphy and organic shapes, creating a dynamic tension between control and spontaneity. The color palette is bold, even saturated: deep blue for the water, luminous greens, radiant yellows, and vibrant magenta. This chromatic richness reflects both the diversity of Moroccan culture and a contemporary, daring aesthetic— one that flirts with pop art and moves away from folkloric clichés. ✍️ Symbolic and Cultural Dimensions: Arabic calligraphy plays a central role in the composition—not as text to be read, but as a visual and emotional presence. Letters twist, deconstruct, and breathe across the canvas, becoming pure form and energy rather than language. The fez and traditional clothing elements ground the figure in a referential Moroccan past, but their graphic treatment projects it into a timeless, dreamlike dimension. The pink spherical object inscribed with calligraphy could be interpreted as an internal world, or a metaphor for Morocco’s cultural heart—alive, layered, in constant motion.

In this work, Beatriz Ramirez merges the ancestral, the human, and the technological into an explosive pictorial language, where bodies and machines blur, clash, and ultimately collapse. Robotic figures, hybrid faces, and a woman gazing at a futuristic city through virtual reality goggles depict a world that has lost its direction: art trapped in artificial systems, memory suffocated by digital noise, identity fragmented by technology.

We Iranians have a proverb: ((The pot is the same as the water in it)). Which means: Human behavior is a reflection of his mental and physical perceptions. I worked as a nurse for about 40 years at different times and at the same time I was engaged in painting as a family heritage. Attention to the art of recycling and reducing waste production and returning recyclable materials to the cycle of nature was the main subject of these works.This collection uses sterile glove covers from colored disinfectants found in hospitals with traditional Iranian subjects taken from Ferdowsi's Shahnameh. The purpose of this collection is to remind us that by reducing waste production or recycling it, we can have a cleaner earth.

In “The Unwinding,” the girl is not chasing the bird; she is observing, receiving the moment, letting life happen. Bharti Vandna – Accomplished Artist and Educator Bharti Vandna is a distinguished visual artist whose journey has been defined by remarkable achievements and a deep passion for the arts. Her works have been exhibited in prestigious national and international galleries, earning widespread recognition. Very recently honoured with prestigious Chandigarh Lalit kala Akademi award, Top 10 World Artists Award at BIEAF Busan, Korea. Her painting being published in UNESCO report on world art day 2020. Renowned for her minimalist painting style, Bharti Vandna masterfully captures architectural urban landscapes interwoven with figures and birds, distilling complex emotions into their purest form. She has successfully hosted four solo exhibitions She has travelled to more than 30 countries , visited many prestigious art galleries and got opportunity to meet local art community. An alumna of Govt. College of Art, Chandigarh, she completed her post-graduation in Fine Arts from Punjabi University, Patiala, where she was awarded a gold medal in 1990. Her artistic excellence was recognized early when she won the Best Artist Award at the National Inter- University Youth Festival. With over 30 years of experience as a Fine Arts faculty member, she has played a pivotal role in nurturing young artists. Biserka pl. Vuković, the Wandering Queen, is an engineer, poet, and artist. Her book The Purple Rose has been translated into eleven languages. Through poetry, art, and heartfelt expression, she connects people across cultures, borders, and languages.

Pleiades 플레이아데스는 일곱자녀라고도 불리며 황소자리에 위치한 눈에 띄는 산개성단 지구에서 가장 가까운 성단 중 하나로, 약 440광년 떨어져 있고 다양한 문화권에서 영적인 깨달음의 의미로 등장하며 푸른반사성운에 둘러싸여있는데 이별들은 예술적 영감을 준다.
우연한 효과로 얻어진 이번 아날로그적인 Pleiades를 통해 푸른빛의 별들이 우리를 평안의 안식처로 인도할것이다.
With flower petals, I captured the intense sun and cosmic energy using an early photographic technique: cyanotype printing.
The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, are a prominent open star cluster located in the constellation Taurus. Approximately 440 light-years away, they represent spiritual enlightenment in various cultures and are surrounded by the reflection of blue nebulae, whose stars provide artistic inspiration.
Through this analog Pleiades, created by chance, the blue stars will guide us to a haven of peace.
An observer of nature and a story maker. We tend to see what we want to believe. I break that mantra by capturing multiple viewpoints (human and nature) in my storytelling. The perspective from nature can be unrecognizable or distorted at times. When revealed, its surreal universe is often misunderstood and I strive to give it context. I use photos, videos and mixed media to connect to nature, humans, time and space. 자연을 관찰하고 이야기를 만든다. 우리는 믿고 싶은 것만 보는 경향이 있지만 스토리텔링에 다양한 관점(인간과 자연)을 담아냄으로써 그러한 고정관념을 깨뜨리고자한다. 자연의 관점은 때로는 알아볼 수 없거나 왜곡될 수 있다. 자연의 초현실적인 세계가 드러나면 종종 오해받기 마련이고 그 세계에 맥락을 부여하기 위해 노력한다. 사진, 영상, 그리고 혼합 매체를 통해 자연, 인간, 시간, 그리고 공간을 연결하고자 한다.

I am a emerging fine artist from Pakistan, currently pursuing my undergraduate studies in Fine Arts at Fatima Jinnah Women University. Each and every piece of my work is created in a natural, subconscious way. It’s always exhilarating and gets my blood pumping. Every time I touch the paintbrush to the canvas, endless ideas and feelings spill out as the tip of the brush jumps around and paints a beautiful picture. I feel like I fall into another dimension of the universe. I feel like someone is guiding my hand. Once the feelings come, I can envision the art piece already up there in the sky, and I am just transcribing it onto the canvas.
I never limit myself to specific tools, or materials, and I never think about the skill or style at all. I just follow my natural feelings and allow the tools and materials to manifest itself on the canvas, and let my imagination run wild. The tools simply express the thoughts and emotions I have at the moment

Can Gündoğan is a contemporary painter based in Istanbul, whose work explores the intersection of psychological states and environmental conditions. His artistic practice is rooted in personal experiences with chronic breathing issues, evolving into a visual inquiry around the concepts of air, atmosphere, and the fragile relationship between body and space. Blurring the lines between figure and environment, his paintings often depict semi-transparent human forms that dissolve into urban or undefined spaces. This visual ambiguity becomes a metaphor for the fading connection between individuals and the natural world in modern life. Carlos Artime Nace en Manzanillo, Cuba en 1940. Cursa su educación superior en la Universidad de la Habana y es allí donde realiza estudios de Plástica Aplicada a la Arquitectura, teniendo entre sus profesores una parte de los pintores pertenecientes al Grupo Los Once reconocidos como la avanzada de la Plástica Nacional Contemporánea de ese momento; a partir de 1965 comienza a mostrar su obra en concursos y exposiciones colectivas, Lyceum, Casa de Las Américas, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, etc., alternando desde entonces su labor de Artista Independiente, en distintas especialidades, Pintura, Murales, Carrozas, Diseño Gráfico y Escenografía con la de Arquitecto, obteniendo distintos Premios, Menciones y Reconocimientos. En 1991 se traslada a los E.E.U.U. y por un tiempo mantiene un estudio en Miami Beach, Florida, hasta que decide en 1992 trasladarse a Puerto Rico donde permaneció ininterrumpidamente por 14 años, contando con un estudio-taller tanto de pintura como de cerámica, un medio en el que desarrolló formatos pequeños hasta grandes murales, como el que se encuentra en el Capitolio de Puerto Rico, siempre tras una incansable experimentación y búsqueda. Actualmente reside permanentemente en Miami desde donde expande su obra internacionalmente. Hasta el momento ha realizado 40 exposiciones personales e incontables exposiciones colectivas; su obra ha sido admirada y se encuentra en colecciones públicas y privadas en distintas partes del mundo: Cuba, España, Francia, Bélgica, Italia, la antigua Unión Soviética, Estados Unidos, Perú, Venezuela, Panamá, Ecuador, México, Costa Rica y Puerto Rico.

Born in the city of Bucaramanga, Colombia, he began a lifelong pursuit of artistic research and experimentation at a very young age, seeking to discover his own unique painting style. Through discipline and self-sacrificing, constant work, he taught himself something that forged not only his own style but also his character, vital to the work of any artist committed to learning, perfection, and mastery of technique. Influenced by his continued study of the works of the great masters of the Italian and Spanish Renaissance, and later by the movements of modern realism, he displayed a unique and distinctive style throughout his artistic development, featuring soft, crisp brushstrokes and vivid, restrained colors that imbue his portraits and figures with a compelling force that invites contemplation.
His realistic figurative style, combined with a refined, classic technique, has earned him growing recognition in recent years within national and international cultural and artistic circles. Commissioned portraits of prominent figures in politics and entertainment, as well as business leaders and government and private institutions, make this Colombian artist a must-have on lists of the main bastions of world art. His costumbrist works and other

In the context of “The Lost Center - Art in Crisis”, my work Ink Rhyme, Golden Blossoms responds to the chaotic “crisis” narrative. The ink - dripping background, with its hazy fluidity, mirrors the fragmented, center - less state of contemporary art discourse. Yet the ordered golden flower - of - life patterns act as a quiet anchor.
They represent an attempt to rebuild a “center” — not a rigid, traditional one, but a personal, spiritual core. In an art world often adrift in noise and fragmentation, this work uses the tension between chaos (ink) and order (golden blossoms) to reflect on how to find meaning. It’s a search for a new “center” within crisis, where inner peace and symbolic resilience become the guide, reminding us that even in disarray, art can nurture a quietly blooming,
centered soul.
Carroll CW Tsang is a Hong Kong visual arts practitioner. Catari was exposed to art at a very young age. Her mother took her to exhibit openings, theater, opera, concerts, etc. since she was around 8 years old. By the time she was 10 she knew most of the well established artists as well as up and coming artists who later made names for themselves. She had visited many studios and was fortunate to see the masters at work. She doesn’t know at what point exactly she decided she wanted to create, paint, sculpt. If you ask her when she knew she wanted to become an artist she probably will tell you she was born knowing. She has lived in several countries and traveled extensively. Her art reflects her life experiences and interaction with various cultures. Her work reflects her love for life, color, and nature.

A French artist with a degree in Visual Arts, Video, and New Technologies from the University of Paris I-Panthéon-Sorbonne, Cécile Batillat began collaborating with the Experimental Academy of Theaters at the Théâtre du Rond Point on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. She then directed independent documentaries, including Etats des lieux Etats des liens, which received the Prix Planète Cable in 1995 in Lyon.
A professor of literature and philosophy, she returned to her first loves, painting and drawing, to explore them as a medium for reflecting on reality. Her works have been exhibited in Europe, the United States, Latin America, and India.

In this series entitled Exit from the waves, created for the Art Chamber gallery in Calangute Goa, India, I wanted to evoke the succession of moments necessary for the transmutation of a being. It reflects Andersen's heroine's quest for spirituality. The mermaid, a being of the flesh, the archetype of femininity, becomes an ethereal being who aspires to transcend first her body as a fish, then her body as a woman, to reach the immortality of the soul. The movement represented, paradoxically, freezes, reaching a moment of eternity with each freeze frame, like the Haïkus that condenses the essential to be expressed. Each canvas Sy independent of the others. But when they are placed side by side, the narrative is reformed. The breath returns and a rhythm of lines is established, like an obsessive melody. The essence unfolds like a wave, whispering the melody of the soul.

‘The Lost Center’ speaks to me as a silent echo from the Earth—a call to return to the sacred spaces we’ve forgotten. In times of crisis, art becomes a compass. Through painting, I try to rebuild that center within, using stillness, light, and natural forms to awaken memory and care. My work Boundary of Snow is a prayer for inner alignment and for reconnecting with the invisible threads that bind us to the Earth, to time, and to each other.

Boundary of Snow is a meditative work from Cheng Han-wen’s Himalayan Prayers series. Using cold tones and layered whites, it evokes a sacred field where time slows and silence expands. A silver square in the lower corner marks a quiet gate to the unseen—a spiritual center long forgotten. In this suspended stillness, the painting becomes a space of luminous breath and contemplative light. It reflects the fragility of our connection with nature and invites the viewer to return inward, where prayer begins in silence.

Born in 1988 in Horodiste, Calarasi, Republic of Moldova, Chicu Eugenia Touma is a visual artist whose work is deeply inspired by nature, emotion, and the spiritual essence of life. 현재 트랜스휴머니즘 아젠다의 문제점을 체계적으로 비판하고 경고하는 저작 활동과 ‘생태계의 몸, 인간의 몸, 부활의 몸, 사이보그의 몸’을 주제로 미술 작품 활동을 융합하여 동시대 문제를 다양하게 대중화하고 있다.

이 세 작품은 상징적 오브제와 인물의 배치를 통해 존재, 생태, 정체성의 문제를 시적으로 풀어냅니다.
첫 번째 작품은 침묵을 강요하는 다윈과 종이배와 묶여 있는 돌맹이 위에 원숭이가 궤면쩍게 웃고 있어 지식과 문명이 얼마나 한계를 드러내는지 암시한다. 두 번째 작품은 배추 위에 앉아 있는 종이배와 사유하는 인물의 자세를 통해 인간 존재의 불안정함과 생태적 기반 위에 놓인 문명적 상상을 대비시킨다. 세 번째는 무와 귤이라는 일상적 자연물 위에 인물을 배치해, 생태계와 인간 몸의 성찰을 유머와 역설로 풀어낸다.

Yoo Choong Yeul was born July 23rd 1960 in the Kyung-Gi Province Kwang Ju City. He entered art in 1981 and for 40 years he has been recognized as one of the top Korean painters. His work is mostly based on realism and best known for classic portraits. From the start of his career he dreamt of being one of the most recognized painters in the world and in the United States the year 1985 he painted “Sea Captain” and his work was given the honor of being featured in the famous “Decor” magazine in 1988. In 2010 his work was featured as the cover page of England’s artbook “Art in Vogue”. And in 2012 his work was also featured as the cover page for publications from America’s Morningside Publishing, Ekidsland Publishing, LLC.

I strive to find my own scent among the various illusions that accompany life and to change the world.Through my work, I ask myself, ‘What can I do?’ Based on this question, I confront the illusions and true selves within the lives lived through thought and choice. If we broaden our understanding of ourselves and the world by experiencing things previously unseen from a new perspective, the world will be filled with much more love. By searching for myself within myself, I hope to discover a self filled with understanding, forgiveness, and love, and to live in this world with a time of inner peace and reflection.
삶과 함께하는 다양한 허상들 속에서 나만의 향기를 찾아 나와 세상을 변화시키는 데 노력해 본다. 작품을 통해 '내가 할 수 있는 일은 무엇일까?' 이런 생각을 바탕으로 생각과 선택으로 살아가는 삶 속에 허상과 진정한 자아를 마주하게 해 본다. 보이지 않던 것을 새로운 관점으로 느끼면서 자신과 세상을 이해하는 폭을 넓힌다면 세상은 한결 사랑으로 가득하리라. 내 안의 나를 찾아봄으로 이해와 용서, 사랑이 가득한 자기를 발견하여 내면의 고요와 성찰의 시간으로 세상을 살아가기를 바람해 본다.

BIEAF2025 offers us artists the opportunity to take part in the international event “Lost centre - art in crisis”.
Therefore, it is worth the effort to be part of the global dialogue and collide with this theme. I believe that my two works “Passion.Abstract” and “Euphoria.Abstract” (both created in 2025) will capture the spirit of this event.
My name is Krzysztof Hermann, I create under the pseudonym Christopher Hermes. I was born in 1980 in Poland. I worked in the Czech Republic as SQA Manager until 2024. In my last year of work, I also dealt with design. I do oil and acrylic painting and like to incorporate sand into my work, thus creating an interesting structure to my paintings. Lately, I have been photographing a lot. Photography, like painting, is also a form of emotion, of communication. In the last six months I have taken up art seriously. Since then, I have qualified for the following art events: 3rd International Art Review. Siemczyno Palace „From the Mountains to the Sea". Exhibition from 24.05.2025 to 2.08.2025; Pasaje 865 Gallery. Buenos Aires (Argentina). Exhibition from 27.06.2025 to 3.07.2025; 5th International Art Review. Struga Palace. Exhibition from 28.06.2025 to 31.08.2025; 11 September 2025 in Sain-Paul de Vence, France, I will have the pleasure of receiving the book "New Protagonists of Contemporary Art. 2025", in which my work will be included. I received the invitation to participate from the Italian foundation Effetto Arte; Participation in the 1st International Project organised in Poland entitled "TIME OF PEACE - ARTISTS FOR PEACE". Exhibition planned for the 3rd-4th quarter of 2025.
1.The work, which I titled 'Passion. Abstraction' was created in March/April this year, during Lent. The title refers to the Passion, or the sufferings and events of the last hours of Jesus Christ's life, from his capture in Gethsemane to his death on the cross at Golgotha..... Passion also has another meaning It is a passion for something that brings us satisfaction, euphoria; something that stimulates us, puts us in a positive mood and gives us a sense of fulfilment. Passion is defined as a kind of life force and energy. It is something that invigorates, gives joy, arouses positive feelings and emotions. In short, it is love - love for what we do. That is why the colours in this painting are not random, but carefully selected from the colour palette to combine the two described meanings of the word into a unity. 2.Another work 'Euphoria. Abstract' was also created in 2025, my intention was to abstractly depict a state of intense, positive emotional arousal, characterised by a deep sense of happiness, joy, merriment and even excitement. Euphoria is a state of intense well-being, often associated with a release of neurotransmitters such as endorphins in the brain.... The three colours red, black and gold combined with glitter.... defines this blissful intoxication.

The tree emerges as a firm pillar that supports all beings, with roots of wisdom and a delicacy toward natural beauty, highlighting the transparency with which humanity must approach everything around us. The tree's branches present diverse, undefined faces, as gender, age, or ethnicity are irrelevant.
What matters only is the expansion of humanity's consciousness toward everything and the construction of peace.

Background:
My unique family background has greatly influenced me. It was normal in my family to think differently and to embrace this difference. My father was an architect, builder, and painter, my brother is a scientist, one sister is a visual artist living in China, and another sister is an anthropologist. My original career goal was to study architecture, but to the utter dismay of my father, I abandoned my nearly completed carpentry apprenticeship and went to Paris to study at performing arts schools.

Education:
Key points of my education include the "Conservatoire National des Arts du Cirque et du Mime," the "Académie Fratellini" (Center for Circus Arts and Training), the Polish "Transport Drama School" under Janina Szarek, the "École internationale Supérieure de Trapèze Volant Jean Palacy," and the "Conservatoire de Dance Classique." I am trained in all aspects of circus arts and dance, with a specialization in tightrope walking and aerial techniques.

Career:
I worked with the French company "Saltimbanques" for several years. Through my performances, I have worked on nine productions in the USA and toured Northern Europe with the Tiger Lillies. I also collaborated on three productions at the Schaubühne Berlin, working with directors such as Andrea Breth and Michael Simon. Here, my focus was on teaching movement styles and providing training for actors (such as Nick Monu, Ulrich Matthes, etc.).

Artistic Development: Throughout my professional career, I have always been intrigued by the question of how to translate a sentence, a feeling, or a moment into an appropriate physical expression. I have been passionate about the world of movement from the very beginning, particularly interested in reimagining and challenging conventional and established movement patterns. The performing arts thrive on these significant freedoms. The performances I have developed have continuously evolved under the guidance of the renowned British dancer and choreographer Christina Comtesse. Through this long-term collaboration, I was able to deepen the authenticity and credibility of the movements. Initially, I thought it was a coincidence that my work could evoke strong emotions. I make music visible and, in doing so, create a unique atmosphere. This type of emotional impact seems to be one of my distinctive qualities and not a coincidence. What's even more wonderful is to sense this atmosphere reflected back through the tension and concentration in the audience. Magical moments occur with the audience, which I could describe as follows: A tearful spectator approached me and shared that my performance had stirred deep emotions in him. Through my performance, he was able to communicate with his deceased parents for the first time in years. It is always an inner journey on multiple levels. The opposite side would be "movement for the sake of movement." It always appears insignificant to us when we don't see an authentic approach. Only when movements become visible through an idea, a thought, and the timing of their presentation do they touch us.
