The little boy stood on the edge of the hill, letting the lastrays of the afternoon sun warm his face. The light of theevening painted the horizon with deep orange and gold, slowlyextinguishing the shadows of a difficult day. Staring intently at the glow thatsinked into the horizon line, he felt a strange peaceflood his heart.
He clenched his fists and took a deep breath. In his mind, theconfusion and fears began to subside, giving way to asweet certainty. He knew that the sun, no matter how dark thenight followed, had one unbreakable promise to make: to rise again the nextmorning. With that thought, a spontaneous smile formed on his lips. He wascertain that the dawn would bring with it new opportunities, fresh hope, and amuch better, brighter tomorrow.

The journey from the sun to the child and from the child to the sun representsthe cycle of life and the unity of all humanity.
Artist's Introduction : Born in Madrid, she holds a degree in Fine Arts (Altea, 2016) and received theExtraordinary Award for her Master’s in Art Projects and Research (2017). Herartistic practice encompasses sculpture, painting, installation, and 3Dillustration. Her work explores themes of identity and boundaries throughexperimental approaches. She employs diverse materials, showing aparticular interest in found objects and plastic media. Her creative processesare dynamic and gestural, characterized by the use of primary colors and anapproach that views experimentation and the absence of rules as essentialelements of her artistic language.

It offers a wonderfulopportunity to bring art to the public and fulfill its fundamental purpose:acting as a bridge for global dialogue—a universal, intelligible language thatrequires no translation.
Artist's Introduction : Mar Sueiras Prieto is a professor at the University of Salamanca, where sheteaches the subjects of Painting II and Pictorial Techniques II in the Faculty ofFine Arts and Chinese Art and Japanese Art in the Master's Degree in EastAsian Studies. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialty in painting and is also a SeniorTechnician in Graphic Arts and a Master's degree in East Asian Studies in thespecialty of China, a solid academic and continuous training that has beencompleted to date, with more than 20 courses and seminars on specializedtraining, innovation and improvement. An academic career where he seeks toestablish an interartistic relationship between art and thought in the light ofthe encounter between different cultures, in order to understand the globalityof the contemporary identity system. In the artistic field, this concern is reflected in the more than 60 national andinternational exhibitions held in Spain, Portugal, South Korea, Japan, India,Egypt, Turkey and China. His work is part of various public and privatecollections, such as the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of South Korea -Korea Art Museum (Republic of South Korea); the Faculty of Fine Arts of theUniversity of Guizhou (China); the Espacio Prineos Heritage Fund in Huesca(Spain); the Fundació Aca de las Illes Balears (Spain): the HaegeumgangThematic Museum in Geoje (Republic of South Korea); the collections of theSIANOJA International Symposium of Artists in Cantabria (Spain). In the work "The Skin of a Tree", Mar Sueiras seeks poetic solutions, combiningwet and dry techniques and exploring the relationship between introspectionand visual creation, to deepen the duality of a physical and emotionalrelationship with nature. An immersion in the emotional states of artisticpractice and the natural world, through the evocation of a space and a time. Inshort, a unit where the totality of existence is represented, such as Yuzhou 宇宙, where the setting (space) and history (time) form a single dynamic andinterconnected reality. Here, a tree, like a child, plays with its branches movingin the breeze: they undulate, dance and enjoy contact with nature, longing foran intact natural environment, a nature where a tree can grow and expand itsbranches and where all living beings can find shelter.

Artist's Introduction : Marcos P’fúka (Artur Valente Matavele), born in 1961 in Maputo, currently livesin the municipality of Matola, Matola Gare (Tchumene 2), Maputo Province,Mozambique, Africa. He is a self-taught visual artist. His works express themselves throughpainting, drawing, and montage. Having been born in a multicultural country, his artistic journey is marked bythe search for elements that reinforce and record national and African identityas a way of enhancing art's contribution to peace and equitable developmentglobally, in the sense that all human beings have a duty and obligation tocontribute to equitable and sustainable development. He has participated in group exhibitions since 1988 and has held three soloexhibitions in institutional spaces such as the Bank of Mozambique, the Brazil-Mozambique Cultural Center, the Fernando Leite Couto Foundation, and theAlto-Maé House of Culture. His works are part of private and publiccollections, including those of the Central Bank of Mozambique,Telecommunications of Mozambique, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourismof Mozambique. In 2025, a work was selected for the São Paulo Biennial; in 2024, heparticipated in the Peru Biennial; participated in international virtual artexhibition “Waste to create 4” organized by Ecoawareartgallery; participatedin the “Crossing Gazes: Global Art” From 1992 to 1999, he received awards at two MozambiqueTelecommunications Company Biennials and one at the annual exhibition ofthe National Art Museum of Mozambique. This artwork seeks to convey on canvas the message left by Mozambique'sfirst president, Samora Machel: "children are the sun that never sets."The work was created using layers of oil paint on canvas, depicting Africanflowers transformed into the little bodies of children launching their kites, likea child's dream of a harmonious and peaceful world.

Margarita Ghazaryan is an interdisciplinary artist who uses embroidery as aconceptual tool to address social norms and issues. Through textileinstallations, she reinterprets invisible narratives—such as institutionalerasure, linguistic violence, and fragmented memory—making suppressedlayers of history visible.
Description of the work :
"Sifted Gaze" features three domestic sieves with embroidered fragments of aself-portrait. Moving from complete to distorted, only the eyes remain. Using aphotographic negative effect, they project positive shadows on the wall. Thework contrasts individual memory with official historiography; while it tries to"sift" and level the narrative, the remaining gaze resists erasure, gainingintense strength and clarity. This self-portrait creates a self-reflective layer,where the artist is both the observer and the subject of history's sifting.

I am the founder and president of the Academy of Modern Literature ofFlorida (USA). Maria Artnow is a Spanish painter born in 1991 who began her artistic trainingat El Niu Creatiu, an art studio directed by Pere Ribera, where she developedher artistic language and established the foundations of her painting practice. Throughout her career, she has participated in around twenty groupexhibitions with the Gatearte-Artgate collective, as well as exhibitions at theJosé Luis Sampedro Cultural Center and the Puerta Bonita Cultural Club inMadrid, among other venues. She has also held several solo exhibitions, including at Arte Blanco Gallery in Castellón, Vivel Palace, and the Departmentof Equality and Peace of La Vall d'Uixó. Her artistic practice also includes collaborative and performative projects,such as Implicarte, presented during La Nit de l'Art in Castellón. While living in Barcelona, she attended a workshop led by Paula Bonet andexhibited her work in cultural centers and galleries, including Espai NauArtGallery and El Casal Mas Guinardó. Most recently, her work was featured in Las dos orillas: Contemporary Artistsfrom Ibero-America and Europe, an international exhibition held in Madrid.

For me, "From Sun To Boy" represents the journey from the universal source oflife to human creation and consciousness. It speaks of the connectionbetween nature, light, and the creative spirit. My painting Born of the Sunexplores this same idea through motherhood, portraying birth as the ultimateact of creation and the origin of both life and artistic expression. I am honoredto contribute to a festival that celebrates these universal values.

This work began in Doha in the summer of 2025.
It was meant to be a sun-filled, realistic landscape.
But time passed.
I moved. I changed.
And when I returned to it, I no longer wanted to paint the heat.
I wanted to paint what remained inside me.
I covered the desert in ultramarine.
I turned day into night.
Yellow into blue.
"Blue Sand" is not about a place.
It is about memory - how light can live inside darkness.
This is a continuation of my blue period.
A work about transformation, distance, and quiet strength.

"Diaplerons en a poza" is, first of all, a nostalgic work. Using several images tocreate a bigger, dreamt picture, this piece reminices those summer days of mychilhood, basked in the wild nature that raised me. In my opinion, memory islight and light is magic, and that magic of memory is represented here by the"diaplerons": mythical crearures from the aragonese folklore, which are nowdepicted as bursts of light playing with the children, connecting past andpresent with magic, with nature.

Growing environmental crises have become an essential part of my artisticresearch. Living in Italy, I have witnessed increasingly destructive wildfiresthat devastate forests, displace wildlife, and alter entire ecosystems. Theseexperiences have reinforced my belief that humanity is not separate fromnature but deeply intertwined with it. In What We Choose to Save, the image of a woman protecting a rescued owlbecomes a metaphor for compassion in the face of ecological collapse. Thework does not seek to portray disaster alone, but to remind us that every actof protection is also an act of hope.

This painting was inspired by the devastating wildfires that increasingly affectour Planet .Living in Italy, I witness each year how fire consumes forests, destroyshabitats, and threatens countless species in Europe .
In this painting, a woman holds a rescued owl against a landscapetransformed by flames and smoke. The owl represents vulnerable wildlife; thewoman represents the human capacity for care, intervention, andresponsibility. Without that gesture of rescue, survival would not be possible.
An abstract shadow crossing the sky suggests the presence of aerialfirefighters and emergency response, reminding us that climate change is nolonger a distant concept but a reality that demands action.
This work is not only about destruction. It is about the fragile bond betweenhumans and nature, and the urgent question that remains after every fire:what do we choose to save?

'Mind, the Gap 4'This surreal collage merges disparate elements to create an intriguingcomposition. At its center, the partial, torn face of Martha Vickers from a 1946magazine in black and white covers a vibrant, colourful illustration of anantique kite, evoking a striking contrast between the monotonous and thedazzling. In the lower left, another kite, this one in the form of a bird withdetailed plumage, joins this juxtaposition, emphasising the themes of flightand freedom. I’ve been working with glass with 30+ years of expertise. My work try to reflectthe deep emotions and complexities of our era through the medium of glass.Blending blown and cold-working techniques, I shape light and raw material toignite imagination, challenge limits, and touch the soul.
This sculpture was born as a direct response to a moment of social oppression—the banning of a Pride march—capturing the raw tension betweenvulnerability and collective resilience. The pierced, vibrant heart representswounded pride, love, and identity under attack by a harsh, destructive force(symbolized by the heavy, rustic iron nail). However, the true core of the piecelies below. The glass figures do not stand alone; they form an organic,unbreakable human chain. Through their shared effort, they create a livingpillar that prevents the heart from falling. 'Sustained by Unity' is a monumentto the truth that no authority can crush human dignity when a communitychooses to stand shoulder to shoulder.

Mario Henrique Tique, á um artista plastico e designer gráfico moçambicano,oriundo de uma família de talentos em artes visuais. Começou a dedicar-se aodesenho e pintura ainda em tenra idade. Ganhou o premio de pintura no primeiro concurso para jovens talentos emartes plasticas em moçambique pós independência em 1989 . Nesta alturaformou se em pintura abstrato figurativa, com artistas Ucranianos em maputo.Em 1992 foi o premio de pintura do Banco fomento e Exterior de Portugal,num concurso internacional onde participaram artistas de mais de 30 paisesdo mundo. Deste prémio estagiou na cooperativa Arvore de Porto, Portugal,onde trocou experiências e aprendeu novas técnicas com alguns artistasportugueses e latino americanos. em 1993/94 participou com o artista Naguibem exposições de pintura em Potugal onde teve a oportunidade de pintar nagaleria de Roberto Chichorro. Maritza Bernal is an internationally renowned Colombian plastic artist whosework is a testament to the mastery of figurative realism and the expressive useof color. Originally from Bogotá, where she began her studies in oil whileserving as an Occupational Therapist, Bernal moved to the United States in2003 to devote herself entirely to her artistic vocation. Since then, he hasdeveloped a prolific career that has earned him the professional accreditationof AICOA in Barcelona and the recognition in important scenarios of world art. Bernal’s career is characterized by a remarkable international presence and aseries of awards that guarantee its technical quality. I have been following BIEAF closely, and it was a great pleasure for me to takepart in the organization of its previous edition. I find BIEAF’s vision of definingart not merely through exhibited works, but as a living movement shaped bythe collective contributions of artists, particularly valuable. By bringingtogether diverse cultures, forms of expression, and experiences while placingartists at its center, this approach offers an important model of solidaritywithin today’s art world. I especially appreciate its understanding of art as asustainable space for dialogue that builds bridges between generations andencourages us to rethink our relationship with humanity and nature.

In this work, I reinterpret a spatial setting that preserves Istanbul’s historicaland cultural fabric through the lens of technology. The piece focuses on thebridges established between past and present, exploring the human innerworld, the search for identity, and the experience of loneliness within crowds.Despite the allure of vivid colors, neon lights, and the seductive urbanatmosphere, the individual’s existential questioning remains unchanged. Thesilent dark figure in the left corner symbolizes a person observing life from adistance while searching for a sense of self. No AI was used in the creation ofthis artwork. The entire work was produced through 3D modeling.

Seed of the Sun explores the sun as the origin of life, energy, and creativepotential. Organic forms spread across the canvas like seeds, cells, ormicroscopic worlds in constant transformation. Their dialogue with theluminous yellow background evokes the encounter between solar light andthe invisible processes of growth. The painting speaks of the creative processas a living force: every seed holds the possibility of transformation, just asevery act of imagination begins with a single spark.

Turkey
Mete Karaçoban born in 1991 in Gagauzia, Moldova. He is the eldest son of thesculptor Atanas Karaçoban. His father was his first art instructor and played asignificant role in shaping his early artistic development. In 2003, he moved toTürkiye with his family. Between 2005 and 2009, he studied at KütahyaAnatolian Fine Arts High School.
He received his Bachelor's degree in ArtEducation from the Department of Art Education at Gazi University between2009 and 2013. He completed his Master's degree in the Department ofPainting at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Gazi University, between 2013and 2016. In 2023, he earned his Proficiency in Art (equivalent to a Doctoratein Fine Arts) from the Department of Painting at the Graduate School ofAnkara Hacı Bayram Veli University.
In 2025, he was awarded the academictitle of Assistant Professor and currently serves as a faculty member in theDepartment of Art Education, Faculty of Education, at Sivas CumhuriyetUniversity. His artworks are included in the collections of various publicinstitutions and private collections.

Through spontaneous clay-forming processes, I discover emerging forms thatseem to reveal themselves from within the material. My work embracesintuition and chance, allowing shapes to evolve organically rather thanfollowing predetermined designs. Inspired by pareidolia—the tendency toperceive familiar images within ambiguous forms—I use the sgraffitotechnique to improvise surface decorations that respond to the evolvingvessel. The resulting works explore the boundary between recognition andimagination, inviting viewers to uncover their own meanings and associationswithin each form.
Tell us about BIEAF2026 'From Sun To Boy' : My interpretation of From Sun to Boy draws upon alchemical and Jungiansymbolism. The Sun represents the primordial source of life, spirit, andcreative energy. Like the scarab of ancient solar myths, which carries andtransforms the power of the sun, this energy is passed into humanconsciousness and set into motion through a process of inner transformation. Through this alchemical journey, the Boy emerges as the Puer Aeternus, theEternal Child, a symbol of renewal, imagination, and unrealized potential.The Boy is not merely an individual but a future-oriented consciousness thatremains connected to nature and animals. Through love, wonder, and respectfor the living world, he participates in the healing and continuation of life. Thisprocess unfolds not in a straight line but as a spiral of co-evolution, wherehumanity and nature continually transform one another. Within this work, the one-eyed Dokkaebi appears as a symbolic encounterwith one’s own magic. Emerging intuitively through the coil-building process,it represents the first meeting with the Self in the Jungian sense—the hiddencenter of the psyche that lies beyond the ego. The Dokkaebi stands at thethreshold between the unconscious and the visible world, embodying themoment when an inner image takes form. It invites viewers to recognize theirown unique magic and to encounter the creative force that guides theirongoing transformation.

This sculpture is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Korean one-eyedDokkaebi. Rather than following a predetermined design, the form wasdiscovered through an intuitive coil-building process, allowing the figure toemerge gradually from the clay. Inspired by Jung's concept of theunconscious, the Dokkaebi symbolizes the hidden creative forces that existwithin every individual. Its single eye suggests both inward reflection andoutward perception, bridging imagination and reality. By bringing theseunconscious images into physical form, the work seeks to materialize a senseof personal magic. Viewers are invited to encounter the figure not as a fixedsymbol, but as a catalyst for discovering their own meanings, memories, andinner magic.
