Tell us about BIEAF2026 'From Sun To Boy' :
As a figurative artist who often works with female subjects, I have alwaysviewed artistic creation as a form of birth — each artwork entering the worldwith its own presence and purpose. The theme “From Sun to Boy” resonatesdeeply with me: the Sun as the origin of life and creative energy, and the Boyas the artist receiving that light, stepping into a new realm of expression. Thismirrors my belief that every piece of art carries a spark of creation, addingsomething meaningful to the world.

Anne Canceran
Philippines
In this work, I explore the raw drama of sky meeting sea through bold, impastobrushwork and vivid color. The turbulent clouds—rendered in deep crimson, magenta, and charcoal—surge across a warm peach horizon, evoking both theintensity of a tropical sunset and the emotional weight of an approachingstorm.Below, the ocean rests in striking contrast: calm strokes of turquoise andcerulean anchor the composition, offering a moment of stillness against thesky's chaos. This tension between turbulence and tranquility reflects myongoing fascination with nature's dualities—beauty and threat, motion andrest, the ephemeral and the enduring.
Anne Canceran is a Philippine based visual artist whose vibrant paintings aredistinguished by their bold Fauvist palette, expressive brushwork, and deeplypersonal narratives. Drawing inspiration from themes of womanhood, resilience, heritage, and the landscapes of everyday life, she creates worksthat balance emotional depth with joyful color.A graduate of Early Childhood Education and a Licensed Professional Teacher,Canceran currently serves as an Information Officer at the Department ofEnvironment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau(DENR-EMB). Anneli Di Francis
Finland
Sunlight and shadow are both part of the life. They compliment each other;the sun gives us warmth and life, the shadow gives the relief from the heat. The group of pigeons describe the hope of many ways for peace if we havecourage and heart to follow. The human life is but a fleeting shadow in thisworld, but as long as the earth is, we have hope to learn how to live in peaceand how to respect our earth.
“Anneli Di Francis, Finnish artist, combines in her works the unreality, visionaries and anxiety of the most classic Surrealism with the tendency toanalyze and deeply explore the concept typical of Metaphysics, giving life to afascinating style that on the one hand shakes the observer for her strongimages of great emotional impact, but on the other hand induces him tomeditate on himself, on the destiny that goes day after day building, and toopen his mind considering possible scenarios that could be outlined in thefuture world.”Art historian, curator, Dr. Marta Lock

Sun Rays on the Earth
Acrylic on Canvas 92X76cm 2026
In ‘Sun Rays on the Earth’ the sun emerges as the eternal source of life, radiating energy that nurtures both nature and humanity. Dominating the composition, the luminous golden sun sends vibrant blue and yellow rays across the canvas, symbolizing hope, renewal, and the interconnected rhythm of existence. Its circular form evokes continuity and the timeless cycle of creation. At the center, a child reaches upward toward a flourishing plant, embodying innocence, curiosity, and humanity's responsibility to protect and sustain life. The act of nurturing the growing leaves reflects the essential bond between future generations and the natural world, reminding us that the Earth's well-being depends upon our collective care. The two serene faces in the background represent complementary dimensions of human existence. The blue face, calm and meditative, signifies wisdom, inner consciousness, and spiritual awareness, while the feminine profile symbolizes compassion, beauty, and the nurturing force of nature. Together, they suggest the harmony between intellect and emotion, humanity and the environment. The green sphere beneath the child symbolizes the Earth itself—a living planet sustained by the sun's energy yet vulnerable to human actions. The surrounding foliage reinforces the message that every living organism is interconnected through the life-giving power of sunlight. Executed in bold geometric forms and luminous colors, the painting balances abstraction with symbolism. The vivid contrasts of gold, blue, and green create a dynamic visual rhythm that celebrates vitality while inviting contemplation. The composition reflects the belief that the universe, nature, and humanity exist in a delicate equilibrium. Ultimately, ‘Sun Rays on the Earth’ is a meditation on life, growth, and responsibility. It reminds viewers that the sun's rays nourish not only the physical world but also the human spirit, inspiring hope, creativity, and a renewed commitment to preserving the fragile harmony between people and the planet.

SWINGS OF JOY
Acrylic on canvas 24x36” inches 2026
My paintings are meditations on spaces we inhabit-both external and internal.Through minimalist forms, stillness, and light, I exploresolitude, memory, and the quiet moments that shape our emotionallandscape. Architecture, nature and human presence become metaphors forconnection, belonging, and the search for inner balance. This painting titled “Swings of Joy“ As the warmth of spring sun nurtures andbrightens the earth and nature comes to bloom the world around along withhumans fills with hope, emotions, playfulness. This painting also tells a story oftrue joy that exists in the present moment ; not the past - not the future justthe moment we are living… . When it is lived , loved and spent well, the futureis filled with positivity and possibilities.

It encourages artists to reflect on our relationship with theenvironment, society, and the values we pass on, inspiring creative dialoguethrough art across cultures and disciplines.
Bibivi – Artist Statement “ Reducing reality to its essence to capture the emotion of the moment.” Bibivi In my work, I seek to reduce reality to clear and essential forms , eliminating the superfluous to capture the immediacy of the moment and its emotion . My works celebrate the joy of seeing , light, color, and simplicity, transforming everyday scenes, portraits, and emotions into recognizable visual symbols . Through a minimalist approach, I use defined black lines and flat colors , attempting to convey visual and emotional experiences with the fewest possible elements. Inspired by Bauhaus, Neo Pop culture, fashion, design and architecture , I integrate traditional and contemporary media into my creative process, from watercolor and acrylic to digital illustration and animated imagery. I am interested in achieving a minimalist elegance and a digital aesthetic , continually exploring new ideas related to technology and the changes it introduces in our way of perceiving the world. In essence, my work consists of reducing the superfluous to capture the essential , transforming the everyday into direct images that convey emotion, atmosphere, and a contemporary way of seeing.

Bilguun Bolor
Mongolia
Bilguun Bolor is a contemporary Mongolian artist whose surreal works explorethe profound fusion of human and machine. He envisions a near future inwhich artificial intelligence seamlessly integrates into everyday life. In thisworld, people appear as refined machines—organic bodies interwoven withcircuits and conductors, coexisting with autonomous robots in harmony yettinged with subtle unease.
In his paintings, soft, pulsating flesh is deliberately blended with rigid, intricate circuitry. Skin melts into wiring, veins carry streams of data, and facesemerge half-formed from mechanical substrates. These hybrid figures areboth beautiful and unsettling, compelling viewers to contemplatetechnology’s impact on human identity, empathy, and ethics. Bilguun’s worksneither celebrate nor condemn this transformation; instead, they quietly yeturgently invite reflection on a hybrid tomorrow that is already beginning totake shape.
While he occasionally creates sculptures that extend these concepts intothree dimensions, his primary practice centers on drawing and painting. Hissignature medium is ballpoint pen drawing—chosen for its precision andhypnotic capacity for line accumulation. Layer upon layer of ink producesluminous, almost digital textures that evoke both mechanical repetition andorganic growth. He enhances this approach with acrylic and watercolor paints, achieving richer color fields and greater atmospheric depth.
Through meticulous craftsmanship and speculative imagination, Bilguunbridges cultural heritage with technological possibility, reminding us thathumanity’s future will be shaped not only by machines, but by the values wechoose to preserve.

This artwork is an Hommàge for the great explorers, the brave self-sacrificingpeople. I have been studying about their different life's works, for each ofthem the navigation of a ship itself played an important role. In this installationI created a large disc that represents the Earth, the Sun, and the wholeuniverse. In front of it passes an amber-orange shiny transparent ship, throughwhich we can see the head of THE EXPLORER - as he is directing his attentionon the islands.
