I am a visual artist working under the pseudonym Christopher Hermes. Mycreative journey has developed in parallel with a long-standing professionalcareer outside the art world, which today has a significant influence on thenature of my painting practice. For many years, I worked in the CzechRepublic, where, as a SQA Manager and Head of Supplier Development andComplaints, I managed quality processes. This experience is now reflected in adisciplined approach to form and a commitment to the quality of the mediumthroughout the creative process. I have also expanded my artistic skills toinclude the field of design, which has allowed me to freely combine traditionalpainting techniques with a modern approach to applied aesthetics andpictorial structure. It was these experiences that led me, in 2025, to a fullreturn to my passion – painting. Since then, I have taken part in numerousexhibitions, both in Poland and abroad, consistently developing my ownlanguage of abstraction. My work revolves around emotional abstraction andmatter painting. I experiment with texture, working in oils and acrylics, as wellas using mixed media – I combine paint with natural mineral materials, such assand, which gives my works a unique, tactile structure. Matter becomes anequivalent means of expression for me – building tension between control andchance, between a smooth patch of color and a raw, almost organic texture.My work reflects a fascination with both nature and the cosmos, as well as realplaces, which I transform into subjective visions. Spiritual, symbolic andreflective themes intertwine with motifs of dreams, memory and metaphysics,creating an atmosphere of mystery. My paintings balance between reality andimagination, emotion and form, creating a space for both reflection and anintense visual experience.

I interpret ‘From Sun to Boy’ as a process of creative alchemy in whichdestruction and creation coexist. ‘The Sun’ provides the raw, monumentalforces of nature: the blinding genesis of ‘A SUPERNOVA EXPLOSION.ABSTRACT’ and the molten, suffocating heat found in ‘IN THE SHADOW OFTHE LAVA. ABSTRACT” FROM THE DIPTYCH: „A FEW MOMENTS FROM THELIFE OF VESUVIUS’. These works demonstrate that nature’s greatest energiesoften begin with violent chaos. ‘The Boy’ represents human consciousness,entering ‘FROM OUTSIDE THIS WORLD. ABSTRACT’ to capture and freezethese shifting forces within the confines of the canvas. My abstract trilogy actsas a visual bridge that transforms the fear of environmental destruction into aharmonious dialogue of cosmic wonder and rebirth.

Description of the work : 1. A SUPERNOVA EXPLOSION. ABSTRACT. (representative work)The work depicts a monumental, cosmic process of birth and destruction,captured in the dynamic explosion of a supernova. At the centre of thecomposition lies the core of a collapsing star, surrounded by a violent, ring-shaped explosion of matter. This immense force radiates outwards in the formof organic, expressive patches of colour, dominated by intense shades ofyellow, deep purples and blood-red hues. The contrast between the cool, darkexpanse of space and the hot, dazzling energy of the explosion emphasizesthe duality of the universe – destruction that becomes the beginning of newlife. Details in the form of distracted stars and glowing points enhance theimpression of infinity and the three-dimensionality of space.The work interprets the festival’s theme as a story of light and heritage. Asupernova explosion is the moment when the Sun (a star) releases all itsaccumulated light and energy into space.This act of total self-sacrifice symbolises nature’s unconditional gift to a newgeneration (the Boy).The work reminds the young man that he carries within him a part of this purebrightness, which has the power to illuminate the darkness of the modernworld. 2. FROM OUTSIDE THIS WORLD. ABSTRACTThe composition of the painting is based on the tension between organicchaos and emerging order. The central zone, bursting with light, symbolisespure life energy – the impulse that initiates existence. The interplay of earthyshades of gold with deep blues and vivid accents of red reflects the dynamicprocesses occurring in nature and the universe. Through its multi-layeredtexture and expressive gestures, the work raises questions about humanity’splace within this vast ecosystem and serves as a reminder of the subtle,mystical bond that connects us to mystery of existence itself. 3. IN THE SHADOW OF THE LAVA. ABSTRACT. FROM THE DIPTYCH "A FEWMOMENTS FROM THE LIFE OF VESUVIUS"This canvas rejects the passive role of a painting, serving instead as a raw,bleeding fragment of the planet’s anatomy. The surface abolishes colddetachment, forcing the viewer into a tangible confrontation with a seethingsea of saturated reds, violently trapped by a fossilised, coal-black cellularmatrix. This is not an illustration of Vesuvius; it is the volcano itself captured inthe terrifying moment when cosmic thermal energy (the Sun) crystallises intoheavy, earthly topography. By transforming the traditional landscape into adense, screaming grid of active matter, the composition bridges deepgeological trauma with the fragile immediacy of the human witness (the Boy).The shadow of the lava becomes a profound conceptual core – a fertile, criticalzone of imbalance that proves that the primordial currents of nature willalways endure, absorb and transform human existence.

공군사관학교를 졸업하고 전투기조종사로 복무후 (예)공군준장으로 전역하였다.이미지인문학 수강을 계기로 작품활동을 시작하였으며, 주로 야생화, 나무, 숲, 갯벌과 같은 자연생태 사진촬영과, 자본주의시대를 살아가는 우리 주변의 모습들을 비판적 시각의 디지털이미지로 제작하는데 관심을 두고 활동하고 있다. 3회의 개인전과 부산국제사진제, 대전국제사진축제, 전주포토페스티벌 등 수십회의 단체전에 참가하였다.
2024년 3월에 발생한 대한민국 경상북도 북부지역의 대규모 산불은 우리 모두에게큰 충격을 주었다. 화재면적의 엄청난 크기(995,000 헥타르)와 예상을 뛰어넘는 빠른 산불확산에 사상자가 속출하였고, 농업과 축산업으로 삶을 이어가던 주민들에게막대한 피해를 입혔다. 화재발생 후 1개월이 지난 시기에 피해 현장을 방문하여 촬영해 나가면서 피해지역의 광범위함과 처참함에 다시 한번 놀라게 되고, 막심한 피해에도 불구하고 피해복구 노력과 함께 농사철을 맞이하여 시기를 놓치지 않으려 영농작업에 나서는 주민들의 모습에 깊은 인상을 받았다.

Based in Busan, the artist runs a small tavern while pursuing her lifelongpassion for art. A one-of-a-kind upcycling artist, she transforms discardednatural materials into works filled with new life and meaning. Winner of theBronze Prize at the 2025 Eco Art Competition, her work reflects the rebirth ofdiscarded materials, the warmth of family, and a longing for moments gone by.
Like a sunflower yearning for the sun, this work begins with one woman'slifelong aspiration for art. While making a living running a small restaurant, mymother never let go of her dream of creating. The flowers symbolize heryearning for the light of art, while the birds represent the "boy" the pure spiritthat embraces new beginnings. Just as discarded natural materials aretransformed into new life, this work conveys the belief that anyone whorediscovers the childlike heart within can dream, create, and bloom again.
I believe what makes us artists is not talent, but the longing for the sun thatleads us back to the heart of a boy.

Ladislao Plasencki (Trujillo, Peru, 1946) is a visual artist and writer. He hasproduced a modest yet steady body of work in both fields. He studiedarchaeology at the National University of Trujillo and, starting in 1967, wonliterary competitions (*Juegos Florales*) for his short stories and poetry.During that period, he also studied drawing and painting at the NationalSchool of Fine Arts (ENBA) in Lima. Around 1979, he traveled to Mexico, wherehe studied mural techniques under master Rafael Barandarian and held hisfirst solo exhibition. To date, he has held twelve solo exhibitions andparticipated in approximately thirty group shows. In 1989, he created the*Allegorical Mural to César Vallejo* in Trujillo. Subsequently, he completed hisproject *Mural for Planetary Peace*. In recent decades, he has worked on hisnovel saga *La Vía Láctea* (The Milky Way), which comprises several novels.The first, titled *La Edad de Bronce* (The Bronze Age), won the LimaMunicipality's second prize in 1989 and was published in 1990. The second,titled *La Edad de Hierro* (The Iron Age), was published in 1992. *Manantialesdel Desierto* (Springs of the Desert) won the Copé Gold Prize for Poetry in2003 and was published by Petroperú in 2005. *Réquiem al pie de BarriosAltos* (Requiem at the Foot of Barrios Altos), a novella, was published in 2016.The novel *Las flores de Babelia* (The Flowers of Babelia, 2017) was publishedby the Trujillo Municipality's Publishing Fund. *La esfinge preguntona deldesierto* (The Questioning Sphinx of the Desert) is a poetry collection.

My name is Le Ngoc Huyen, a 56-year-old artist and a member of the VietnamFine Arts Association. I graduated from the 33rd class (1989–1994) of theVietnam University of Fine Arts, formerly known as Hanoi College of Fine Arts.Alongside my artistic practice, I work as an art teacher for children at the Hanoi Children's Palace, where I have the opportunity to nurture creativity andencourage young people to appreciate art and culture.
My passion for art and history was inspired by my father, Le Nang Hien, who isalso a painter. I enjoy reading books, studying history, and sharing thatpassion with younger generations through both my teaching and artistic work.In addition to creating fine art, I frequently design book covers and createillustrations for publishing houses. In 2025, I received an award at the Art ofBook, Magazine and Newspaper Cover Design in Vietnam Exhibition. Myartworks are created in various media, including oil, acrylic, and silk.
I am particularly passionate about painting landscapes from life. Wherever Itravel, I seek to discover local landscapes, people, and traditional customs,capturing my impressions of them through my art. I am especially drawn todestinations that remain relatively untouched by mass tourism, whereauthentic cultural identities and ways of life can still be observed.In addition, many of my paintings portray the timeless beauty of Hanoi, as wellas historic temples, communal houses, pagodas, and cultural landmarks thatbear witness to Vietnam’s rich past. For example, I am especially drawn toheritage sites such as Imperial City of Hue and Hoi An, along with traditionalvillage festivals and folk cultural practices.
I am also a member of the Vietnam Women Visual Artists Club, a supportiveprofessional community where female artists collaborate, exchange ideas, andparticipate in group exhibitions throughout Vietnam.

In 2021, we travelled to the Phia Đén forest in Nguyên Bình, Cao Bằng, aremote mountainous region in northern Vietnam known for its pristinelandscapes and cool climate. At the summit of Phia Oắc, I was suddenly struckby the beauty of a solitary tree standing at an altitude of 1,931 meters. Theentire area is covered in mist and cold fog throughout the year, and in winter,ice and snow cling to its branches, transforming the landscape into abreathtaking scene that attracts many visitors to the peak. When I arrived in December, the midday temperature was only about 4°C. Theair was sharp and still. The tree stood without leaves; its bare branchesstretched upward into the sky. It was believed to be several hundred years oldand stood significantly taller and more dominant than the surrounding forest.People called it “The Lonely Tree on Phia Oắc Peak”, a name that reflectedboth its isolation and its quiet strength. I painted the landscape of Phia Đén and created several oil paintings of thistree, one of which has been acquired for a private collection. Only threemonths later, I received the news that the tree had fallen. The site was laterredeveloped, with a new landmark installed to mark the official 1,931-metersummit. A new tree was planted in the place of the old one. In hindsight, Irealised that I had unknowingly the last person to paint it while it still stood inits natural form. After my oil paintings were exhibited, many viewers came and expressedadmiration. They recognized the place and shared their own memories ofvisiting it, recalling the changing beauty of the landscape through the fourseasons surrounding that tree. Later, I returned to the subject and created a watercolour painting on silk. Inthis new interpretation, the same tree remains in my memory: standingproudly on the mountain peak, yet no longer lonely. Instead, it becomes aliving shelter for small creatures. Birds build their nests on its branches,chameleons hide within the moss covering its trunk, and vines gently lean onits strength. At its base, a Dao woman carries a woven basket as she collectsrare traditional medicinal herbs, passed down through her ethnic knowledgeto heal and save lives. The tree continues to rise into layers of drifting cloudsthat stretch across the mountains of northern Vietnam. Through this painting,I seek to preserve not only the visual beauty of nature, but also the presenceof human life and cultural memory within the landscape. It is a tribute to therelationship between people, nature, and heritage in the high northernborderlands of our beloved homeland, Vietnam.

Spring comes, the reunion day, the traditional New Year of Vietnam this year ismuch different, the streets are quiet and romantic.
No more crowded and noisy scene like previous years, Hanoi people are nolonger hustle and bustle. The flower shop is no longer crowded, the flowerbeds are still colorful. Near Tet, the people of the province left this city busilyto return home. Leaving a Hanoi after the silence and sadness hard todescribe, very strange and very familiar ..
Tet comes, perhaps only people from Hanoi of origin will stay in the city,Hanoians can feel a few days as a fresh Hanoi, a little sunshine, a Hanoitrembling to welcome Spring.

The scenery of Buenos Aires, the civic culture of the city, and the passionate“Tango Dancers” with their dramatic relationships, symbolize nostalgia,childhood memories, music, and sensuality, which also serves as the innerspirit of my couples."Deco Tango Couple" is presented on a wooden base to pay tribute to the"Tablado" that the street artists dance on.My minimalistic choice of the relationship between the dancers is deeplyinfluenced by the aesthetics of architecture.

Art is a universal language that creates a dialogue between the invisible andthe visible, between intuitive impulse and material form. Every creative actoriginates from an inner movement in which the soul—shaped by experience,sensitivity, and reflection—transforms an immaterial inspiration into tangible expression. My artistic practice is rooted in a search for the essence of life. Elements ofnature become vessels of creative energy, celebrating the harmony betweenhuman beings and their environment. At the heart of this exploration lies the Sacred Feminine, a symbol ofreceptivity, intuition, gentleness, and creative power. Through the HeartChakra (Anahata)—the center of universal love, compassion, and innerbalance—a space opens where creative energy can fully flourish. When theradiant force of the inner feminine sun aligns with the openness of the heart,the act of creation becomes an expression of love, healing, andtransformation. This vision is embodied in my work through the exploration of the lotus, asymbol of spiritual awakening and rebirth, as well as through a palettedominated by greens and blues. Green, the color associated with Anahata,evokes growth, harmony, and regeneration, while blue opens a space ofserenity, depth, and contemplation. Combined with vibrant light and organiccompositions, these colors invite the viewer into a sensory experience wherematter, color, and emotion resonate in a universe of peace, well-being, andinfinity. Each of my works thus becomes the expression of a delicate balance betweenthe inner and the outer worlds, where the Sacred Feminine nourishes thecreative act and reveals the profound unity of nature, the soul, and light.
Artist's Introduction : esI am a Tunisian visual artist, graduated from the Higher Institute ofTechnology, Arts, Architecture and Urbanism of Tunis, holding a Master'sdegree in Art Sciences and Aesthetics, specializing in Painting. Since 1988, Ihave been working as a senior art education teacher in secondary schools. My artistic practice is rooted in a continuous search for balance betweensensitivity and structure, contemplation and engagement. I explore formsdrawn from the living world as fragments of a greater cosmic whole, eachcarrying a subtle yet powerful energy. These forms, often seemingly fragile, embody a quiet resilience—the ability toadapt, regenerate, and bridge what appears to be opposed: the infinitesimaland the infinite, the visible and the invisible, the ephemeral and the eternal.Through them, I seek to reveal a universal language, a shared breathconnecting matter, light, and memory. In my work I want to present the sunsymbols of my birthplace "From Sun toBoy", in other words "From Light to Light". There's the Light of God that goesin the church through the door, but inside the church there is the Light of theBoy. In the hungarian culture and folk art there are a lot of sun symbols such asin woodcarving or in handsewing and weaving. The other most used symbol infolk art is the flower. Since ancient times we are using these symbols in outculture. Without the light of the Sun there is no life.

A Note to Persevere began as a quiet conversation I held with myself during aseason when everything felt split apart—when my hopes, my fears, my pastand my future seemed to pull in opposite directions, leaving me feelingfragmented, unsteady, and unsure if I could keep going. Every shape, color,and mark on this canvas is a word in the letter I wrote to my heart: a reminderthat struggle is not a sign of weakness, but the very act of building somethingstronger, something that will not break easily. At the center sits a figure constructed from sharp-edged pieces, bolted andjoined together like a handmade machine or a patched-together mosaic. Thisis not a portrait of how I look, but of how I feel—and how so many of us feel:stitched together from heartaches and triumphs, from parts of ourselves wekeep and parts we have had to leave behind, held upright only by our own willand care. The joints and fasteners running along its arms, legs, and torso arenot flaws; they are proof of every repair, every time I picked myself up, everychoice to keep existing even when it hurt. The small, simple crown restingabove its swirling faces honors the quiet courage it takes just to show up eachday—for yourself, for your dreams, for the people you love. It sits steadily on arough, golden mound: solid ground formed by every struggle walked through,every lesson learned, every tear that fell and dried. In its open palms rests a glowing blue vortex—my heart, my purpose, or theheavy weight I have carried for so long. It is wild, swirling, and hard to hold, yetthe figure does not crush it or cast it away. This is perseverance: not fightingwhat is difficult, but holding it gently, learning to carry it, and letting it shapeyou rather than destroy you. The dual faces and shifting features reflect themany sides we show the world and ourselves—the brave front we wearoutwardly, the doubt we hide inwardly, the child we once were still living withinus. Behind it all stretches a deep, star‑dusted indigo sky, alive with movement:spiraling galaxies that mirror the chaos in our minds, winding musical notesthat sing of joy and memory, distant lights that are hopes we have not yetreached. At the edge, a small, smiling face on a stick waits patiently—an echoof the simple, innocent happiness we sometimes lose sight of while fightingour battles. Near the bottom, a tiny fish swims freely through the dark: areminder that life flows on, time keeps moving, and even in deep waters, thereis always a way forward. I worked with thick, textured brushstrokes and bold, unblended colorsbecause the journey of perseverance is never soft or smooth. It is loud, messy,and vivid—just like these hues that stand apart yet belong together. Thispainting is my promise to keep going, and my gift to you: wherever you arebroken, you are also built strong; wherever you feel lost, you are still part ofsomething vast and beautiful; and no matter how heavy what you carry feels,you were made to hold it, to grow through it, and to rise again.

I think that there is no other more urgent issue in the world than unitingaround the humaine and the beautiful. BIEAF does that well, this is some kindof a mission we all must try to participate in either way, one through his art,one through his political views and one just by his kind lifestyle.
This is a memory of my childhood, a young boy in my friend's neighborhood,probably, he was a person with some autistic condition and also walkingdisability, who was carried in his wheelchair to the yard, was exposed to thesunlight and watched the birds and us - the other kids playing. He could nottalk, although he was already 16 or 17, was always smiling and making noisesonly he could understand. Nevertheless, we tried to engage him in ourgames... I always wondered - what where his thoughts, when he was watchingus running and the birds flying?.. And now when I am grown, I think - that is sogood that we were not afraid of him, we embraced his conditions so naturally. Iwonder where he is now...

Lincy Josey is a Chennai-based self-taught artist with over a decade ofexperience working across diverse media. Vuong Linh is a Vietnamese contemporary artist whose paintings explore therelationship between humanity, nature, and the emotional landscapes ofeveryday life. Working primarily in oil on canvas, she creates visual narratives that combine poetic symbolism with expressive color, inviting viewers toreflect on the world beyond its visible surface. Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, Linh has developed an artistic language influenced byImpressionism’s sensitivity to light and atmosphere and Cubism’s explorationof human perception. Rather than following these movements literally, shereinterprets their principles through a contemporary perspective rooted inVietnamese culture and personal experience. Anchored in Spring reflects my ongoing exploration of expressing an Easternsensibility through a Western painterly language. Inspired by the brushwork,light, and materiality of European oil painting, I do not seek to depict the West,but to tell stories rooted in Asian philosophy.
The anchored boat is not a symbol of hesitation, but of presence. In Easternthought, stillness is not the absence of movement, it is harmony with time. Itdepicts three female figures, two seated and one standing, who holds thebeauty in her hands. The work symbolizes admiration for an ideal of beautydictated by the norms of each civilization. This idealized beauty is unattainableand leads to a constant sense of dissatisfaction, with consequences for bothphysical and mental health. Mi trayectoria artística se caracteriza por una búsqueda constante de nuevoslenguajes plásticos y por un profundo compromiso con el humanismo comoeje de su creación. Nací en Sos del Rey Católico en 1962 y me afinqué desde muy joven enHuarte, comencé mi formación artística en la década de 1980 en el taller delescultor y pintor Patxi Buldáin, donde estudié modelado y pintura. Desdeentonces desarrollo un lenguaje propio, de carácter multidisciplinar, queabarca pintura, escultura, obra gráfica, fotografía, vídeo y performance. Uno de los acontecimientos que más influyó en mi evolución fue mi estanciaentre 1990 y 1991 en la República del Congo. Allí conocí el arte africano, elvalor simbólico de los materiales y las posibilidades expresivas del reciclaje,convirtiéndome posteriormente en uno de los pioneros del reciclaje artísticoen Navarra. Mi obra se desarrolla mediante grandes series de investigación artística. Entreellas destaca Hombres Piedra, iniciada en 2002, una reflexión sobre lacondición humana, la cognición y la evolución del ser humano a través decientos de pinturas, esculturas y obras gráficas. En esta serie emplea unlenguaje de inspiración primitivista, automatismo psíquico y una fuerte cargafilosófica y humanista. A lo largo de mi carrera he participado en más de doscientas exposicionesindividuales y colectivas, tanto en España como en el extranjero. Mi obraforma parte de colecciones privadas en numerosos países, entre ellos Japón,Estados Unidos, Francia, Italia, Suiza, Suecia, Israel, México, Portugal, ReinoUnido, Venezuela y Países Bajos. En 2025 obtuve una importante proyección internacional al ser distinguidocon uno de los premios del Busan International Environment Art Festival(BIEAF), en Corea del Sur, reconocimiento que me permitió impulsar nuevasexposiciones y colaboraciones internacionales.

Since I was young, drawing was a fun and natural part of my person but onlyclose friends and family knew that I had potential when it came to this. My artteacher back in secondary school, taught that ‘a picture is worth a thousandwords’ so we should put a lot of thought into our creations and that it shouldmean something, thanks Mr. O’Donnell 😊. Outside of doing fan art based onmovies, videogames, comic books or cartoons I was enjoying, I didn’t drawmuch but if I did, there’d be unintentional melancholic undertone to it all.Unbeknownst to me every drawing I did was a cry for help, hoping to figureout who I am and where I belong. I just wanted an easy life, for everything tomake sense with the least resistance possible but we all know that isn’t life orreally living. After a LOT of growing, learning many lessons I didn’t want to takeon board, I think I’ve found that beauty can emerge from life’s crucible. Beingmindful of this has been a godsend and it is something I want to keepnurturing especially through art. ‘Prestigious’ is a rough English translation of my name, ‘Iyi’ while ‘Fortitude’depicts my journey of working through life’s hurdles then coming out betterfor it. Not to say I have made it, but creating this moniker ‘PrestigiousFortitude’ marks the milestone of that epiphany. Fusing my love of comicbooks and videogames, I want my art to be explosive and maximalist in nature.Creating pieces, you can look at for ages and still find depth. Going forward itwill come from a productive perspective and maybe even littered with eastereggs for what I hold dear. So yeah, welcome to my journey.
Description of the work : My take on the 'seven ages of man', my own journey of discovery and self love.Starting off an infant being a blank canvas, hence why I'm draped in white. Thegreys are me trying to find spots where I could belong, hoping for a sense ofcommunity, but they were not good fits since I was performing what I thoughtan acceptable person should be. The black and gold is where I began to find myself, being confident in oneselfregardless of what people would say, which is also shown by the confidentsmiles. The black is also significant, paying homage to my Nigerian rootsnoting all the hurdles my parents went through to give me betteropportunities. I also love the use of gold because the most valuable goldneeds to purified through a hot furnace, so for me all of life experiences hashelped mold me into the best version I am today. Prestigious is because my name, Iyi is a loose yoruba translation of the wordprestige while fortitude connotes my unique journey of finally acceptingmyself.

Description of the work : A kind of inconsistency is forming in the human mind about each other.Against the backdrop of uncertainty, the morality of dealing with one way orthe other no longer seems to be the norm. We see that moral relativity isinvolved, and it is difficult to defend morality in that absurdity world. We seethe effect at all this in the movement around us and we see effect of it inpolitics, in social life, in social media without any logic, we take it head on ansee that stupidity happing in front of everyone. It doesn’t matter assume thatthe politics around us one plagued by a devastating epidemic. Absurdityseems to have taken held in the human mind to a great extent in the present situation. Whether it is political, or the language of human domination, it seems to be inthe final stages at complete felly in the universe around us.The human mind is confused by the idea of imaginary surrealism, but whoeverbelieves in this absurd that the universe is confused and irrational, and thatany attempt to impose his order on him is ultimately unsuccessful. The effectof this is to make a home in the subconscious mind. Of the human mind andthe result is that after some time we see it coming out in the form at same kindof thinking, which I am trying to in my paintings.
