Yann Courté
France
Artist's Introduction :
Photographer and filmmaker based in the south of France, my work is rootedin the experience of places and movement. I work in series, with an open eyeand no pretense of objectivity.
For the past ten years, I have been gradually leaving behind a long commercialpractice in video and photography. What has emerged is an authorial practicebuilt around the relationship between people and their world, how societiesorganize and inhabit territory, and how individuals find their place within it.
Tell us about BIEAF2026 'From Sun To Boy' :
Rivages is a series born from a shift in my practice, stepping back fromcommercial work toward something more essential and personal. The territoryis familiar, but the gaze is new. That movement toward light, toward one's owncreative core, is what this series shares with the spirit of this edition.

Description of the work :
Rivages is a series of wanderings around Béziers, from La Malhaute ponds, former sand quarries reclaimed by reeds and birds, to the beaches ofSérignan and Valras. A territory I have known all my life : fishing as a child, lateevenings on the beach as a teenager. The series emerged gradually, fromimages accumulated in these peripheral spaces, shaped by ordinary gesturesand long habits. These three images are excerpts from that ongoing work.

Mystic Horizon
Mixed Media 20cm x 20cm 2026
Description of the work :
Mystic Horizon is an exploration of that hazy boundary where dreams fade intoreality. Through layers of purple and blue, I’ve tried to capture a landscape thatexists more in the mind than in the physical world. The abstract forms and softtextures represent a distant horizon—one that is both mysterious and inviting, constantly shifting as we try to reach it. This piece serves as a meditation onthe unknown; it is a space for quiet reflection, where the viewer is invited tostep into the mist and define the horizon for themselves.
Tell us about BIEAF2026 'From Sun To Boy' :

Yen Le Van
Vietnam
Artist Le Van Yen: Member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association. Member ofthe Hanoi Fine Arts Association, Member of the Vietnam Women Visual ArtistsClub. Participated in numerous domestic and several international exhibitions. My creative philosophy: Sometimes I begin a painting with the intention ofexploring an idea that suddenly appears in my mind. Other times, I begin withan emotion. That emotion may come from nature. It may come from a quiet moment ineveryday life, or from an emotion that lingers long after words have faded. Ipaint because some experiences cannot be fully explained—they can only befelt. When working, I rarely force a painting to conform to a predetermined image.Instead, I let it develop naturally. Color, texture, and movement become alanguage of their own, gently revealing what has been hidden within me. Morethan once, a painting has surprised me by becoming something I neverplanned, yet somehow perceived as profoundly authentic. Nature often appears in my work—not as a landscape, but as a reflection ofour inner world. Wind, storms, light, and earth all carry emotions familiar tome. They remind me that strength can coexist with gentle stillness, and thateven moments of chaos can be the beginning of transformation. I don't paint to offer answers. I paint to create a space where emotions can befreely expressed, where viewers are free to carry their own memories, questions, and stories. If someone stands before one of my paintings andquietly discovers something they didn't know they were carrying withinthemselves, then the work has found its true meaning.
Description of the work :
I don't want to tell a complete story or offer a single interpretation. Instead, Iwant to create a space where viewers can enter with their own emotions.Perhaps each person will see a different storm, a physical storm or anemotional storm. Perhaps they will realize they have hurt someone they onceloved, or even a hidden wound within themselves.
For me, rebellion in the storm is not the absence of calm. It is the moment wefinally accept all parts of ourselves.

Description of the work :

Yeongae Yun
Korea
Yoon Young-ae is a Western-style painter based primarily in NorthGyeongsang Province and Seoul. She majored in Western painting at both theundergraduate and graduate levels (M.A.). Her work explores the themes ofinvisible time and the restoration of life found in daily existence and nature, expressing the process by which waiting leads to hope through the formalqualities of line drawing and the symbolism of butterflies. Guided by the beliefthat the cycles of nature and human growth are intertwined, she seeks toconvey a message of healing and hope through her art by capturing theessence of life and the value of coexistence in her works.
Tell us about BIEAF2026 'From Sun To Boy' :
The theme ‘From the Sun to the Boy’ evoked a journey in which the light of thesun—the source of creation—connects to the artist’s soul, which expressesthe essence of nature. My work, *The Time of Hidden Light*, also captures theprocess by which life blossoms into light through waiting and restoration. Ihope this International Environmental Art Festival will be a meaningfuloccasion to reflect once more on the essence of nature and art, and to sharethe value of coexistence.

Hidden Light's Time — The Moment Standing Before the ightⅠ
Mixed media on Canvas 60.6☓72.7cm 2025
Description of the work : ‘Time of Hidden Light’
is a work that expresses the value of waiting andrecovery through the formal transformation of line work and the symbolism ofthe butterfly. The repetitive lines filling the canvas signify the passage of timeaccumulated by life, whilst the transition from long, continuous lines toprogressively shorter ones symbolises the process by which the light of hopedraws nearer after a period of waiting. The butterfly in the work represents abeing that blossoms into new life after enduring long suffering, embodyingthe cycle of nature, recovery, and the potential for creation. If the sun is thesource of all life, then its light, through growth and transformation over time, leads to new life. This work seeks to convey a message of hope for a future inwhich humanity and nature recover and coexist together.
