BIEAF2025
World Artist Selection
Dear friends and artists We announce the selection of BIEAF2025 World Artists. BIEAF's steering committee examined various writings, drawings, and social media activities submitted by artists over the past month. As a result, 113 artists were chosen. The initial plan was to select 100 artists, but there were 13 more. It was because there were so many great and wonderful artists. The content was excellent and the process was fair. Hanji
To me, 'Hanji (traditional Korean paper)' is more than just a material; it's a medium that captures traces of existence and the texture of time. The process of layering, tearing, and adding layers of this paper, imbued with the breath of time, is a ritual that connects nature and humanity, past and present, tradition and modernity.

Artist’s Note
Climate change is no longer an exceptional disaster; it has become an everyday reality that threatens the very conditions of life. A seed is an existence whose potential is determined by extremely subtle variables, such as temperature. Through winter landscapes and the Svalbard Global Seed Vault, the artist visualizes this fragile balance. The harsh natural environment of Iceland reveals how deeply human existence is dependent on environmental conditions. Viewing the Earth itself as a vast seed vault, this work asks a fundamental question: protecting life is inseparable from the responsibility of protecting the future.

I’m writing to formally inform you of two exciting developments in my artistic career that I’d like to update in your records:
1. International Jury Participation
I have been honored to be invited as a member of the International Jury for "Art for Earth. Action for Future.", the International Art Awards and Online Exhibition presented by World Art Fair (January 10, 2026). This role aligns with my ongoing commitment to promoting innovative and sustainable artistic practices through platforms like BIEAF.
2. Exclusive Interview with Asian Art Contemporary
I am delighted to announce that I have been selected for an in-depth feature interview with Asian Art Contemporary, a leading authority in contemporary Asian art. This conversation will highlight my creative process, perspectives on global art trends, and insights into how art can address environmental and societal challenges. The feature will be published later this year.
Ilham Sebai Chaabane is a Tunisian visual artist who holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Higher Institute of Arts, Architecture, and Urban Planning in Tunis. She began her artistic career in 1995 as a visual arts teacher. Ilham started exhibiting her work modestly in 1992, then regularly from 2006, before expanding internationally in 2018. She has also organized and participated in numerous national and international workshops. Her works are displayed in both Tunisian governmental and international collections.
She has held numerous solo exhibitions. Throughout her artistic journey, she received the Third Prize at the Carthage Contemporary Art Days in 2023, and she had confirmed her participation in the second edition in 2021 with a contemporary conceptual installation. She also received the First Prize for Creative Educators for two consecutive years.
She has been an exhibitor and a member of the steering committee of BIEAF 23/24/25 in Busan, South Korea (2022). She participated in the cultural days held at the headquarters of the World Intellectual Property Organization (OMPI) in Geneva. She has also worked as a coordinator of artistic environmental events widh THE DREAMER. She won the First and Second Prizes at Junk Kouture, the Tunisian edition of Envirofest, and was selected to participate in the international competition in London. She exhibited at the Wigel Museum in the Lazio region of Rome in 2024 and was awarded the Howard Mediterranean Prize at the Cultural Center in Rome.
My work is an artistic manifestation that weaves a deep fusion between art and nature. This union carries a powerful resonance, revealing the diversity, harmony, and fragile complicity of the natural world while underscoring its vital need for preservation. My practice is rooted in a commitment to sustainability, ecological balance, environmental respect, and responsible resource management. It embraces the infinite complexity of nature—from its raw beauty to its vulnerability, from its richness to its majestic force.
Nature surrounds us, sustains us, and offers an invaluable treasure that must be protected. Its splendor is breathtaking; its complexity, captivating. The oceans, forests, and ecosystems hold extraordinary biodiversity—unique worlds supporting countless species, forming an essential foundation for life on Earth. My work does not merely celebrate the aesthetic beauty of nature; it also engages with the challenges it endures. It calls for awareness of our impact on the environment and emphasizes the urgency of caring for it. In protecting nature, we ultimately protect ourselves.
Through this art, I hope to inspire action—to encourage sustainable practices and to awaken the desire to become guardians of this precious, living treasure. By cherishing nature, we acknowledge our interdependence and the profound gratitude we owe it.
Venturing into the timeless space of my canvas, I explore new pathways rich in discovery. Friezes intertwine across the surface, challenging and reshaping the structure of the work—neither fully figurative nor entirely abstract. Whether these bands confine the color or liberate it, what guides me is the exhilarating musicality of the process: “When one color slips beneath another, when a line shortens or extends through another, I feel as though I am listening to the interpretation of a choral song with mixed voices…” The work appears like a drop of ink dissolving into the sea, like a soft sound rising from the earth’s depths, like a shimmering multicolored fish—a “weight_sound.” Sea tones, earth tones, contrasts of light and shadow, delicate fish, heavy echoes…
Bass and treble, bursts and rhythms, colors and cadences—sounds that explode, drift, transform like fish carried by the waves. My approach also explores the fisheye effect: a wide, distorted field of vision that expands creative possibilities and challenges conventional perspectives. Through 3D light beams illuminating underwater depths rich in fauna and flora, a magical movement emerges—drawn through a play of lines. A singular dialogue is formed, capturing the echoes of the deep and unsettling the boundary between visibility and imagination, inviting us to journey beyond the surface.
All these emotions, intentions, and gestures combine in my desire to engage and awaken the gaze. A revelation of intimate, luminous madness unfolds through a pictorial language that remains both recognizable and ephemeral. My work ultimately celebrates and defends marine biodiversity—an essential pillar of sustainable development and a cornerstone of life, well-being, and the health of our planet.

My name Ioannis Kaiserlis, but In the world of Art I am KaiZer. Through contemporary Painting I explore the complexity of modern life, attempting with bold compositions, vivid colors and noticeable fluid movement to create a visual language as dynamic as it is expressive. Drawing inspiration from a range of sources including pop culture, street art and contemporary design, being an Interior Designer and builder of luxury homes in the past, I strive to portray the eclectic nature and essence of modern culture through abstration, emotionally liberating and spiritual levels. I focus on exploring the possibilities of color as a medium by experimenting with various techniques and materials, thus pushing the boundaries of power within painting. I attempt to bridge the gap between traditional and innovative. I want Art lovers to observe the world in new and exciting ways, challenging them to look beyond the surface of things and explore the deeper complexities that lie beneath.

KAISERLIS, IOANNIS
Veria (Grecia), 5 settembre 1974
Atlante dell Arte Conemporanea 2021, page 923-924
IOANNIS KAISERLIS was born in 1974 in Veria in central Macedonia, and currently lives and works in Athens. As a teenager he begins to have a passion for painting and sculpture. The family business, linked to furnishings and interior design, allows the Greek author not to completely diverge his attentions from the artistic world, but rather stimulates him to find the right reconciliation between his pictorial talent and the interference professional. Over the years, Kaiserlis refined his preparation between studio activities and numerous trips to the most important museums in Europe, developing a language that brings him closer to American action expressionism hybridized with suffused figurative echoes, the latter attributable to the millenary aesthetic tradition of classical Greece. The production of Kaiserlis is open to all those innumerable declinations of informal art, which developed between Europe and the United States during the post-war period. His figurative repertoire proves to be extremely eclectic, capable of drawing liberally even from those surrealist roots which constituted, in turn, the foundations of the aforementioned informal movement. His figurative implantology is shaped around the study of the great masters that he had the opportunity to focus on during his training trips, focusing mainly on the figures of Joan Mirò and Jackson Pollock. Without neglecting the aspect based on his training linked to design, a multifaceted trait derives from it, within which stylistic elements apparently devoid of interrelation coexist within a language which, although it has been plurally adopted by his contemporaries, proves capable of reveal itself through him in an absolutely unique and unrepeatable way. Although Kaiserlis makes use of the wild gestures of the American leaders, his research always turns towards compositional euphony which allows him a material transfiguration of his very personal “calm chaos”, where the artist’s sensitivity is synthesized with the spatial harmony of the decorator. The result is therefore a painting rich in perfectly calibrated chromatic suggestions, aimed at generating sensations of lust rather than brutal dismay, thanks to a measured use of the spatula and dripping techniques tending not to attack the viewer’s visual field, but rather towards a multisensory ecstatic meditation of Kandinsky matrix. Designed more for the decoration of private homes rather than for the mosaic display, the works of Kaiserlis prove to be more lyrical declinations of the scenic space than an uncontrolled expression of one’s emotions. The structure of each scenography is harmonious and dynamic, demonstrating a proportional coexistence of shapes and colors even when it makes use of the dripped with greater entropic emphasis. Through a masterful commensuration of the expressive value of the pigments, ours captures the observer, immersing him in lively and hypnotic atmospheres with surrealist suggestions. In addition to various Pollocks and Gorkys, Ioannis Kaiserlis also owes much to Joan Mirò. From the Spanish master, ours recovers the carnivalesque suggestions of the colors and the sign imprint. Traditionally, surrealism approaches the multiform facets of the dreaming ego and the painting of Kaiserlis, although with expressionistic-abstract influences, is no exception. In his works the author transfers his dream material to the pictorial support in its essential state, often letting himself be guided by that pure psychic automatism, the way in which André Breton defined the creative process of the masters of surrealism, which leads him to search for a sort of alternate reality, a graphic emanation of his dreamy, transcendent worldview. Kaiserlis’ action painting does not allow itself to be overwhelmed solely by gestures, but rather indulges in manifest narrative voluptuousness. The Greek abstractionist proposes a painting which, despite the almost absence of subjects attributable to a unifying message, possesses an intrusive as well as variegated communicative emphasis. The triptych The Wave of the Venetian Life represents a heartfelt wish of hope to the lagoon city, whose millenary beauty coexists with the constant scourge of the storm surges. In the distribution of the dramatic architecture of the scene, one can venture interesting parallels with Picasso’s Guernica, a work with which he shares the harsh criticism of human intervention. If the cubist highlighted the disasters of war on a global scale, Ioannis Kaiserlis pictorially expresses himself on the uncontrolled depletion of environmental resources, focusing on the disastrous impact of man to the detriment of the delicate balance of the ecosystem. On the one hand the author regrets the daily deterioration of the city of Venice, on the other his work re-invokes the help of “Divine Providence”, that is, that plan of the Creator capable of directing all earthly activities, so that the universal balance is one day restored. The gondola lashed by the waves on the right side of the scene constitutes an interesting parallelism with the iconography of the cross, as an element of Christ’s passion. In The Wave of the Venetian Life the mystical spiritual subtext is recognizable which guides both the pictorial inspiration of the Kaiserlis, and in general the life of him as an individual.

Statement
Imagine a moment when an image, sound, or fragrance suddenly carries you into emotions you never knew existed. In that hidden space, a light awakens, lluminating yourself and the world with transformative clarity.
I create such moments. Through vision and emotion, I build a bridge between the conscious and subconscious, revealing feelings beyond words. My paintings aim to awaken a light within the unconscious, exposing raw and profound truths of human emotion. By portraying these directly in the faces of my subjects, I hope to spark empathy and deeper understanding.
Through struggles, confusion, and the untold stories of women’s lives, I show that we are all rooted in the same ground threads of one fabric. My work reminds viewers that humanity is one, and that empathy, at its core, is love. My purpose is to amplify the voices of women who endure pain yet whose resilience is unseen. Womanhood passed from grandmother to mother to me carries generations of struggle.Though the world has advanced, many women are still denied basic rights. We, as women, are the foundation of existence, and it is vital to restore our deep connection.
Through art, I seek to witness both suffering and strength, creating a space of recognition and compassion. My hope is to help shape a better world not only for women today, but for generations to come.
Artist vision
Where does a forest begin? From a single seed. I believe that personal growth, nurturing one’s community, and expanding cultural roots can all begin within me, creating a shift in how people relate to one another. My vision is to grow this community, extending its reach to inspire a more compassionate and beautiful world.
From an early age, I was known for deep emotional sensitivity—a quality that revealed a profound capacity for empathy. I could feel the emotions of others almost as my own, shaping both my understanding of human experience and my creative identity. Over time, I learned that this sensitivity was not a weakness but a strength: a way to transform emotion into art that connects hearts beyond words.
Through my visual practice, I seek to distill emotion into its purest form, inviting viewers to awaken their own hidden empathy. I believe this shared emotional language already exists within all of us; it only needs a spark to illuminate our inner darkness and remind us of our collective humanity.

Artistic Inspiration
“For me, painting is a journey into the stillness of the soul. I am drawn to nostalgia, detailed depictions, and the meditative process of carefully rendering each element. This practice brings me peace, balance, and a slower, more mindful approach to life. In my works, I strive to incorporate elements of culture, history, and heritage, so that my art is not only aesthetically pleasing but also rich in the traditions of my people. This foundation is essential for my creative journey and artistic growth.”
