The Sun representsthe genesis of the universe and the dawn of all creation. The Boy symbolizes the "ArtisticHuman"—a spirit in pursuit of expressing the very essence of nature.
In our official poster, the Sun is personified as a creative feminine archetype that enrichesthe world, while the Boy represents the artist, stepping into a new realm of creativity as hereceives light from the Sun Goddess.

BIEAF2026 제23회 부산국제환경예술제 특별전 "From Sun to Boy ― 해에게서 소년에게"가 아름다운 부산에서 개최된 것을 진심으로 기쁘게 생각합니다. 이번 전시는 단순히 환경을 주제로 한 예술행사를 넘어, 자연과 인간, 그리고 미래세대가 어떻게 함께 살아가야 하는가를 예술을 통해 성찰하는 뜻깊은 자리입니다. 태양은 모든 생명의 근원이며, 소년은 우리가 물려주어야 할 미래의 상징입니다. Distinguished Artists from Home and Abroad, and All Friends Who Cherish Art and the Environment,I extend my deepest gratitude and warmest welcome to each and every one of you.
It brings me immense joy to celebrate the opening of the BIEAF 2026 Special Exhibition, "From Sun to Boy," held in the beautiful city of Busan.
This exhibition goes far beyond a conventional art event centered on environmental themes; it serves as a profound platform to reflect through art on how nature, humanity, and future generations can coexist in harmony.
The Sun represents the ultimate source of all life, while the Boy symbolizes the future that we must preserve and hand down. As the title "From Sun to Boy" suggests, it is our shared obligation to pass on the precious life and vitality we have received from nature whole to the generations yet to come.
This year's festival holds even greater significance as artists from across the globe gather in one place to converse through the universal language of art—speaking on the environment, peace, life, and the future of humanity.
Art grants us a fresh perspective through which to view the world. That perspective often transforms our lives and translates into meaningful action toward a better tomorrow.
It is my earnest hope that through this special exhibition, visitors will rediscover the invaluable preciousness of nature and environmental values, taking that first small step toward bestowing a beautiful Earth to future generations.

I am Rafael Romero, an artist and Member of the Royal Spanish Academy of Arts.
The 23rd edition of BIEAF is now upon us. Following a long period of preparation by its committees, staff, members and collaborators – which required no small amount of effort – it is now a reality. It is, therefore, that long-awaited moment when so many international artists share their finest works with the world – perhaps even with the universe.
I admire the sheer volume of participation, which is of such remarkable quality. Opening the gallery and stepping into the halls is a marvellous experience: artists from all over the world, of all ages, of all convictions and beliefs, are emotionally united, sharing one heart and one smile. Taken as a whole, this is a call for Love, Peace and Harmony in a world that must be cared for by responsible and powerful human beings. Art born of the heart and conscience has arrived to transform everything towards goodness, light and positivity – that warm sunlight that warms the face of the child that we all are.
BIEAF is a constant gift; that is why BIEAF is so important. We are given the extraordinary opportunity to be ourselves. I offer my heartfelt congratulations to Yousang Lee, the driving force behind this event, and to all the members, collaborators and artists for their unwavering conviction and positivity. The Sun represents the eternal source of energy that sustains all living beings, serving as the ultimate genesis of art. The Boy symbolizes the "Artistic Human"—a portrait of future humanity destined to inherit that divine light and shape a newly awakened civilization.
